Engagement Shoots

Branna & Wade Engaged :: { north georgia wedding photographer }

I was privileged this past Sunday to shoot a great couple for their engagement pictures. Wade and Beanna… I met Wade the day of the shoot… really nice and down to earth guy… and Breanna… I have known of her ever since she was really little…. I went to school with her older brother and sister… watched her sis drain 3′s when I was a freshman in high school and I played a lot… I mean a lot of basketball with her brother while coming thru high school… great family and a good gene pool… whats your secrete Frankie? =).  Anyway this was a great shoot… other than being a lil cool… okay a lot cool / very cold we still got a lot of great shots. Here are some shots from the session… sorry for so many but I couldn’t really narrow it down to just a few ::

Baseballs in November :: { athens ga wedding photographer }

Amanda and Kevin… what a great session for a really cool couple! Amanda booked me for their upcoming wedding this February. Well obviously we shot their engagement session this past Sunday. I always like it when my clients have the cool ideas… and all I have to do is set it up and make it happen. That’s pretty much how this session went… Amanda had some really neat ideas and we got some really great shots because of them….  here is a sneak peek from the engagement session ::

Hott and Humid :: {southeast wedding photographer}

I am very excited about this couple…. they booked me awhile back for their wedding up in Asheville NC this October…. this fall… leaves changing…. in a valley between two mountains…. can you tell I am somewhat, okay a lot excited about it. PLUS its a destination wedding for me… (Scott loves destination weddings). They came down on Tuesday to go ahead and do their engagement session. As I remembered details from the venue in Asheville, I thought about the perfect place here that resembles similar to what she was describing… anyway we loaded up and went to a buddy of mines place too shoot and Jessica could not have been more pleased with the grounds. Wait till she see’s these sneak peeks… without and more lip from me, here are a few:

Down on the Farm :: {north ga wedding photographer}

Jessica and Kyle…. a couple of very nice and down earth people…. I mean farmers. I met Jessica last year I believe it was, she had booked me for a normal portrait session of her and Kyle (between us i think it was a test run…lol ;) …. they seem to have liked what they got and the process of getting the shots because I was lucky enough to get booked for their wedding coming up in October at Tucker Plantation… I can’t wait! We shot their “official” engagement session yesterday and boy was it fun. They are farmers off course and love the rustic look of just good ole farm land and…. it made for some great pictures! Their story is pretty cool and Jessica wanted to incorporate a lot of their special moments into this session. I am so looking forward to their wedding as I know we will really get some great pictures… Here are a few from the engagement:

BC and Carley in Athens GA

So this couple is pretty special to me… well me and BC (Brandon) go back a ways… same high school, same trivia team, same tailgate and we share the same car salesman…. so we have history! Now Carley on the other hand… you ever met somebody and right from the first words spoken you knew you were going to like them…. well, that would be Carley to me! The first time I ever met her… the first conversation we ever had went like this: Carley “… hey you’re Scott Greene right…” me.. “yes I am… whats up BC…. uh is is he okay?” Carley “yes he’s fine, but anyway you’re going to shoot my wedding one day… if i ever get married so just keep your calendar clear… okay!” me (laughing) ” okay… will do!”….. Well guess who’s getting married and guess who is shooting her wedding… yeap thats right. Carley nailed it down that very night some 2 years ago and from that point on I think she has been one of my biggest marketing tools that I have had. Thanks Carley! Sooo we had their engagement session this past weekend and of course it was very laid back and fun… and I even got Carley to participate in a little PDA! Your welcome BC!… Anyway here are a few shots from that session:

Savannah, Ben and Flat Tire Engagement!

OKAY!… I’ll get to the engagement part, but… So there is this one particular location, it’s one of my favorites if you can’t tell already by the number of pictures that I shoot here… its an old set of abandoned train tracks that have a cool wall and a lot of junk and trash in the background, right up my alley. So this one particular session I decided to back in to my normal parking spot, well that was a mistake! As i backed in I blew out my right front tire… and this was just halfway threw the shoot. I also found out later that the train tracks are LIVE and there my truck was crippled straddling the tracks… oh my it could have gotten ugly.

Alrighty… now back to the actual session. Ben and Savannah booked me back last year for their wedding coming up this June. These guys were a lot of fun to shoot… even though I had a truck that was about to get ran over by a train at any minute lol… She wanted a little something different than the typical engagement formals and we did a little brainstorming and they were game for these… this is just a few of the great shots that we got… enjoy!

The Sign Guy at Gameday Pub

So the wedding season is upon us… or at least me as of this past Saturday. I had my first engagement session of the season, and a very promising season that it has turned out to be! Michael is a friend of mine and when he and his bride to be Meredith asked me to shoot their wedding, I was excited because I had heard that it was going to be at Piedmont Park… and thats a photographers wonderland. Michael owns a sign shop in Athens ( www.thesignbrothers.com ) and he’s a pretty creative guy. This session was geared more toward a save the date rather than an engagement but we got both out of it. It of course was a little too cold to shoot outside so they had a hook up at the Gameday Pub in downtown Athens and well thats where we shot. It made for a cool session… I was glad to shoot in there again as I shot at the same place this time last year for Eric Dodd’s CD cover.

So I was thinking that this would be a good challenge to do a couples type of session. Plus Michael had a creative way that he was going to do his save the dates and it worked out very cool. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in April…. check out a few of these shots from the session

Hot Out of the Kitchen at Hurricane Shoals Park

Jessica and Kyle… at the time that this session was shot, they were just recently engaged less than 24hrs ago… an early congratulations to you guys. I would tell the clever and cute way that Kyle did it, but I’ll save that for them… the title here is a big hint though =). So Jessica contacted me a while back wanting a “couples” session… well just so happens this turned in to a mini engagement/celebration session. This is the kind of couple that photographers love to work with… very laid back, easy to work with and really wants the unique kind of shots. I hope to work with Jessica and Kyle on their “official engagement” shoot and or their wedding in October… i’ll keep my fingers crossed! Anyway here is a small teaser to what this mornings shoot has in store for them….

Turner Field… section 120!

This was probably my most anticipated shoot so far this year… not many photographers get to have free reign of a major league ball park like Turner Field. Thanks to Haley and Justin for choosing me to be a part of this awesome shoot… this is a great couple with a great story. In a nutshell… these guys met by chance sitting next to each other in section 120 at a braves game in 2008. They have been at it ever since…. what is funny is that they both kept their ticket stub from that night, hmmmm sounds like a destiny story for the Bert Show! Anyway this was a great shoot… slightly over cast with 98 degree weather but hey we made it work. Check out the some of the great shots that we got…

Josh and Jen… sitting in a tree…

So…. yeah my brother met a girl back in 2003… think it was, on a beach trip before he went into the army. Well here we are some 7 years later and they are dating… long distance but they make arrangements to see each other at least once a month. So you know me, i am always looking for people to shoot and well they were my models on this given day… check it out.

Sandi & Mark… Macon it happen!

Met a great couple formally for the first time this past Sunday while shooting their engagement session. The shoot started out with a little rain but luckily it blew on threw and we had a great shoot. I am shooting Mark and Sandi’s wedding on May 8 down in Maco GA. Sandi and Mark was a lot of fun to shoot and I can’t wait for their big day in Macon. Macon it happen!

Its Been A Long Time…

So…. my last blog post was way back in April. Yes I know that I have been slacking with my blogs, BUT in my defense I have been really busy this year with weddings ( which I am very grateful for ), taking classes and update my website with a new one. So what has happened since april… about 6 weddings and several engagement shoots. So without further ado here are some pictures to catch me up….

Jill & Dan

My very first trip up to Marietta Square was an engagement shoot with a great couple, Jill Leeder and Dan Burk. A very fun and relaxed couple… like all shoots it started out a little slow and as we got more comfortable with each other… well I must say it turned out to be one of my best engagement shoots yet. The area was filled with different types of settings and such, I would recommend having pictures shot there and I hope that someday I may get the chance to shoot there again. Jill as you can see from the pictures is very photogentic and I can not wait till her wedding. Dan “thought” that he wasn’t photogentic but we brought out the “GQ” in him. That’s the beauty with my style of photography… just a little guidance here and there and for the most part I capture the interaction of my subjects with each other and their surroundings.

Bridget and David Upshaw 09/08

Hi guys… thought I would post a few quick samples from the Upshaw wedding in Helen,GA. This is a great couple and we had a blast doing the engagement pictures. The wedding went off without a hitch…or at least it did from my perspective, I had a real good time shooting and the shots show it. So, congratulations to Bridget and David and look me up for some family pictures.
