Spring Has Sprung :: { atlanta and north ga photographer }
Spring… one of my best and worst times of the year… the worst, because allergies attack me like no other…. Sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head fever (okay thats from the old school Vicks 44 commercial… just showed my age =)… Anyway, its the best time of the year for me because it’s getting warm and weddings are being shot about every weekend… and in this case it is a good time of the year for engagement sessions as well!! Something about spring afternoons and the very warm toned color of light from the sun that I just love shooting and trying to capture. This session was my first real afternoon that had this kind of light… Nicole and Ryan did a great job and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in September! Check out these fun shots ::
Crystal & Nate :: { atlanta and north ga photographer }
What A Great Engagement Shoot…. As a photographer it always means a lot when a bride is willing to book her wedding around your availability…. it puts a big smile your face =). Meet Crystal and Nate…. me and crystal go back some years ( i won’t mention how many as it may show how young we really are
… but last year around October she contacted me about shooting her wedding this October… and of course we got the details worked out and today was the engagement… ended up being a great shoot as it was also the first evening of daylight savings time ( my favorite time of the year )…. check out a few of the shots below ::
Lauren and Matt :: { atlanta & athens ga photographer }
Meet Lauren and Matt… I must say I am really looking forward to shooting this wedding because these guys are going to make great shots! Very few couples do I come across that need no direction at all… they just naturally are themselves in front of the camera and it comes across as very natural. This was one of those shoots… we got our smiles, we got laughs, we got our quiet moments and we most deff got our kissing shots…. Check out some of these great shots below ::
Karen & Brad Engagement :: { gainesville / atlanta ga photographer }
Happy 2013… It’s not too late to say that is it =)… So I’m baaaack! After my well deserved 3 month break over the holidays… and after what has a been an eye opening and life changing experience for me… its time for some photo therapy. I am back and I am looking forward to this years wedding and senior seasons, so stay tuned to SGP =)
What a great session to kick off my 2013… Meet Karen and Brad…. a real cool couple who wanted something very different for their engagement session… and that we did! It was shot at Brad’s studio where he mixes videos and other cool stuffs… (hopefully an SGP promo video may be coming soon =)…. Anyway the day started out very pretty with sun and blue skies, but of course with my luck lately as soon as we get out to shoot… the rain starts and doesn’t quit…. well of course we shot inside, BUT I saw an opportunity and with a cool couple that was down for anything neat… yeah… well… we shot in the rain… we froze but it was worth it! Checkem out ::
Jordan and Shannon :: {engagement photographer}
Meet Shannon and Jordan… This is a very photogenic couple as you can tell. Jordan can deff work the camera as she is no stranger to the world of modeling and Shannon did a great job as well…. being the “boy prop” and the sweet fiance… Stay tuned this winter as Jordan are I plan to do a session or two for some cool creatives and portfolio builders… We got a lot of great shots but here are just a few from the session…. ::
Michelle and Jay :: { ga engagement photography }
Great couple… Michelle and Jay! Michelle booked me to shoot her Carl House wedding just after the first of the year and after meeting with these guys and now even after shooting them… I have no doubt that we will get some rocking shots at their wedding. We hit one of my newly fav spots in Athens… I like contrasting the urban/industrial locations with good looking and classy couples. Please check out these shots from their engagement and deff stay tuned for their wedding in November! ::
Ashley and Jarred :: { engagement photographer }
I think all my couples I shoot and work with are great, but I must admit there is that noticeable playful love among some that is apparent just right off the bat… Meet Ashley and Jarred, they are one of those couples that make taking pictures easy. Ashley sent me a few ideas that I could add my own little spin too and Jarred actually seemed really comfortable in front of the camera…. (a rarity for most guys). The pictures came on the day that ended a 3 day rain monsoon from a passing by hurricane. We actually didn’t think we would be able to shoot that afternoon and what do you know it cleared up and was bright sunny skies… and not only that but we had some outstanding clouds to move in also towards the end of the session… check out the shots ::
Rain Rain Went Away :: { engagement photographer }
This past week has dumped quite the rain… This engagement session with Latosha and Tad looked a little touch and go for awhile there with the rain all around us. Once again my luck holds out… we get a nice little break and knockout the session. A little funny side note, this particular location is pretty neat except they need a sign that says beware of the cats…they weren’t ferocious or mean just annoying and i bet out of all my shots I had to clone and heal brush them out of most pictures…. BUT with even the cats trying to pester us, we got some great shots… check them out ::
Kristina and Neel :: {athens ga wedding photographer}
Ninety-eight degrees, humid and a slight overcast this July afternoon…. that was what we endured during this engagement shoot at the Botanical Gardens in Athens this past Monday. Kristina and Neel were a couple of troopers to say the least thru these conditions and for that we got some really great pictures… I can’t wait till their wedding this fall. Below are just a few from the session ::
Piedmont Park Engagement :: { atlanta ga wedding photographer }
Ahhh… my second time ever at Piedmont Park and my first time back since my wonderful wedding there last April (Great Wedding BTW). Meet Kim and Allen… Kim works just a rock throw from the park and wanted the skyline in a few shots. Well it’s quite th edrive for me to the ATL but I am up for pleasing my clients… and even though I knew nothing about the park, I have a great group of photographer friends in my group JPG (Joining Photographers in GA) that i turned too for some cool locations inside and boy did they come thru for me. Not only did we get some great skyline shots, BUT we even beat a storm coming thru and got some awesome clouds as well… =). Besides the 97 degree weather… (thats 36 Celsius for any of my Canadian peeps reading)… we had a great shoot and got some amazing pictures =) ::
DJ & Bubba :: { atlanta wedding photographer }
DJ and Bubba… I had never met DJ prior to our engagement session but we have been friends on Facebook for quite some time… she like myself is a graphic designer and we shared a little information about the industry and the tools in the past…. well she got engaged and well I get the opportunity to photography her special day! Its always nice to have people like my work, but always means a lot when someone in the art community likes it as well…. even enough to book me =). I must admit I am jealous of DJ’s design job… she gets to design for the Falcons, Hawks and the Braves…. (if you guys need a freelance photographer let me know
Anyway here are a few shots from the engagement session ::
Where It All Started :: { jefferson ga wedding photographer }
I met Heather and Michael last fall where they booked me for there June 2012 wedding… I kinda had an inside scoop on helping me to book her as she works with my mom =)… Anyway, they wanted to have their engagement session shot at Hurricane Shoals Park as that was the very spot where Michael pop the big question to Heather! I kind of chuckled as they told me about how he pop the question…. long story short, the plan was to do it in from of the old church there on site… well with it being a public park there were several people walking around site seeing… so after stalling awhile and waiting, Micheal just asked her behind the church under a tree…lol…. hey at least it was still close to the old church =). Here are a few pictures from this past Sunday’s session… enjoy ::
Blown Away :: {engagement photographer}
“March comes in like a Lion”… isn’t that the saying or at least something close to that?… Well if it is referring to the wind, this past Sunday’s engagement shoot was a very windy proof of it. Abbey and Matt did great even though it was cold and windy. We shot in downtown Buford which is a haven for photographers and even this day only one other braved the elements that I saw. Anyway we got a lot of great shots… here are a few of my favorites ::
always got to show off the heels!
Baseballs in November :: { athens ga wedding photographer }
Amanda and Kevin… what a great session for a really cool couple! Amanda booked me for their upcoming wedding this February. Well obviously we shot their engagement session this past Sunday. I always like it when my clients have the cool ideas… and all I have to do is set it up and make it happen. That’s pretty much how this session went… Amanda had some really neat ideas and we got some really great shots because of them…. here is a sneak peek from the engagement session ::
Down on the Farm :: {north ga wedding photographer}
Jessica and Kyle…. a couple of very nice and down earth people…. I mean farmers. I met Jessica last year I believe it was, she had booked me for a normal portrait session of her and Kyle (between us i think it was a test run…lol
…. they seem to have liked what they got and the process of getting the shots because I was lucky enough to get booked for their wedding coming up in October at Tucker Plantation… I can’t wait! We shot their “official” engagement session yesterday and boy was it fun. They are farmers off course and love the rustic look of just good ole farm land and…. it made for some great pictures! Their story is pretty cool and Jessica wanted to incorporate a lot of their special moments into this session. I am so looking forward to their wedding as I know we will really get some great pictures… Here are a few from the engagement:
BC and Carley in Athens GA
So this couple is pretty special to me… well me and BC (Brandon) go back a ways… same high school, same trivia team, same tailgate and we share the same car salesman…. so we have history! Now Carley on the other hand… you ever met somebody and right from the first words spoken you knew you were going to like them…. well, that would be Carley to me! The first time I ever met her… the first conversation we ever had went like this: Carley “… hey you’re Scott Greene right…” me.. “yes I am… whats up BC…. uh is is he okay?” Carley “yes he’s fine, but anyway you’re going to shoot my wedding one day… if i ever get married so just keep your calendar clear… okay!” me (laughing) ” okay… will do!”….. Well guess who’s getting married and guess who is shooting her wedding… yeap thats right. Carley nailed it down that very night some 2 years ago and from that point on I think she has been one of my biggest marketing tools that I have had. Thanks Carley! Sooo we had their engagement session this past weekend and of course it was very laid back and fun… and I even got Carley to participate in a little PDA! Your welcome BC!… Anyway here are a few shots from that session:
Savannah, Ben and Flat Tire Engagement!
OKAY!… I’ll get to the engagement part, but… So there is this one particular location, it’s one of my favorites if you can’t tell already by the number of pictures that I shoot here… its an old set of abandoned train tracks that have a cool wall and a lot of junk and trash in the background, right up my alley. So this one particular session I decided to back in to my normal parking spot, well that was a mistake! As i backed in I blew out my right front tire… and this was just halfway threw the shoot. I also found out later that the train tracks are LIVE and there my truck was crippled straddling the tracks… oh my it could have gotten ugly.
Alrighty… now back to the actual session. Ben and Savannah booked me back last year for their wedding coming up this June. These guys were a lot of fun to shoot… even though I had a truck that was about to get ran over by a train at any minute lol… She wanted a little something different than the typical engagement formals and we did a little brainstorming and they were game for these… this is just a few of the great shots that we got… enjoy!
The Sign Guy at Gameday Pub
So the wedding season is upon us… or at least me as of this past Saturday. I had my first engagement session of the season, and a very promising season that it has turned out to be! Michael is a friend of mine and when he and his bride to be Meredith asked me to shoot their wedding, I was excited because I had heard that it was going to be at Piedmont Park… and thats a photographers wonderland. Michael owns a sign shop in Athens ( http://www.thesignbrothers.com ) and he’s a pretty creative guy. This session was geared more toward a save the date rather than an engagement but we got both out of it. It of course was a little too cold to shoot outside so they had a hook up at the Gameday Pub in downtown Athens and well thats where we shot. It made for a cool session… I was glad to shoot in there again as I shot at the same place this time last year for Eric Dodd’s CD cover.
So I was thinking that this would be a good challenge to do a couples type of session. Plus Michael had a creative way that he was going to do his save the dates and it worked out very cool. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in April…. check out a few of these shots from the session
Hot Out of the Kitchen at Hurricane Shoals Park
Jessica and Kyle… at the time that this session was shot, they were just recently engaged less than 24hrs ago… an early congratulations to you guys. I would tell the clever and cute way that Kyle did it, but I’ll save that for them… the title here is a big hint though =). So Jessica contacted me a while back wanting a “couples” session… well just so happens this turned in to a mini engagement/celebration session. This is the kind of couple that photographers love to work with… very laid back, easy to work with and really wants the unique kind of shots. I hope to work with Jessica and Kyle on their “official engagement” shoot and or their wedding in October… i’ll keep my fingers crossed! Anyway here is a small teaser to what this mornings shoot has in store for them….
Turner Field… section 120!
This was probably my most anticipated shoot so far this year… not many photographers get to have free reign of a major league ball park like Turner Field. Thanks to Haley and Justin for choosing me to be a part of this awesome shoot… this is a great couple with a great story. In a nutshell… these guys met by chance sitting next to each other in section 120 at a braves game in 2008. They have been at it ever since…. what is funny is that they both kept their ticket stub from that night, hmmmm sounds like a destiny story for the Bert Show! Anyway this was a great shoot… slightly over cast with 98 degree weather but hey we made it work. Check out the some of the great shots that we got…
