Awesome Shoot! :: {senior and fashion photographer}

I love November through March… I purposely take that time off from client sessions to get all geared up for the upcoming year and while doing that I like to schedule fun portfolio builder sessions in between. This past Sunday I had one of those cool sessions! Another photographer and I have been collaborating about getting together and helping each other out in our shooting, lighting and posing… I love shooting around with other photographers if I have the time. Me and Jon Ruby from Jon Ruby Photography had planned this shoot and luckily for us Jon’s model contact had canceled last minute and I was able to get Ms. Megan, a previous senior I shot from earlier this past summer, to fill the role. She knocked this session out of the park just like she did her first one (Megan’s Senior Session). So here are a few shots from this session and I hope to be shooting some future sessions with her ::

2012 Senior… Wright Here, Wright Now :: {athens ga senior photographer}

Senior session 1 of 2 for this week… and this was a great one. Carly’s mom and I have been planning this session for about 2 weeks and I think we pretty much planned it perfectly. We got some GREAT pictures in some very cool locations. Thanks to Mr. Perry for bringing along his 1960′s Pontiac GTO…. A pretty bad a%# car by the way. I knew from the beginning that these were going to be some awesome shots…. because when they look good on the LCD screen… they are going to be great on the big screen!! Carly was quite the model, she didn’t say much but she was deff working the camera. Oh and for the record… when we shot in the tall grass, she was not afraid of the weeds and the unseen critters running around… really she wasn’t =). So without anymore delay… here we go:

Broke the ICE for 2012 :: {senior photographer}

Soooo this year so far has been a good one for starting out with a bang!… My first wedding of this years season was at Piedmont Park and Park Tavern, and I set the bar high for the rest of my wedding season. Well it looks as if I may have done the same thing again except with the kick-off of my senior season. I had this shoot last night with Ms. Paige whom goes to the same high school that I graduated from… (Go Dragons and whats up coach DuBose!) and this shoot was just fun all the way around. We collaborated  for about two weeks or so kicking around a few ideas and naming a few locations… finally it all came together. She did her thing and let me do mine… and together we got some GREAT shots to kick of her senior year and my senior season. We pretty much covered it all in this shoot from beautiful portraits, old grunge backgrounds, cool commercial like vehicle shots to even some good ol’ attitude looks Jtown style! I hear Paige is pretty good at softball and wins coaches awards in golf, but she surely was a natural in front of the camera… almost as if she has done this for. Maybe I will get the chance to work with her again on down the road. I want to give a quick thank you to Hillary (the light lady) for holding my lights as I forgot my stands… Thanks! Trashing the Dress Mountain Style :: {north ga wedding photographer}

Well the time had finally came… time for part 3 of Ms. Ashley’s Trash the Dress (TTD) session. This was originally supposed to be done last Sept , but after a few reschedules later… here we are and boy was it worth it! I have been looking forward to this water session for awhile. We have previously shot the Country/Urban session and the Junkyard session and now the infamous water session! (OH YEAH… anybody thinking of doing this but is a little timid of ruining their dress… guess what… after all of these session I am taking her dress and getting it dry cleaned and it will be as good as new….. so seeeeee you don’t have to ruin it to Rock It.) Anyway…. I had this place in mind since day one of shooting a few of my buddies fishing here some 4 years ago. Ashley and her mom jumped in the ol truck with me and off we went. After an hour or better ride and some misdirections from TomTom and Casey… thanks bud, we had finally arrived…. well I’m not sure what else I can say other than this was a FUN shoot not only for me but I think for Ashley as well…. The water was pretty frigid still but like a champ she had her game face on…. I’ll hush now and let you see.

Amber’s Big Day in Hartwell

I met Amber awhile back during a session that I shot of her and her friend Beth ( BMAC Session ). Amber is a really energetic gal with a lot of spunk! She contacted some few weeks later after the first session and asked if I could shoot a session of just her as she was turning 30… I meant 26 =). So of course any opportunity that I get to take pictures.. especially cool and unique shots… i jumped on it! Amber has become a master of what she has coined the “Solid Face”… for the record I like the solid face! Anyway we shot around Hartwell and I must say there are some pretty cool spots around there off the beaten path… I will more than likely be scheduling more shoots around there again. So without further delay… here are several shots from the session…

Trashing the Dresses around Athens GA

So I put I a call out about two weeks ago for a FREE trash the dress session for any takers that were willing. I got a lot of inquiries about it but only really a couple of serious ones. Ladies and gentlemen meet Jessica and Shelli from Augusta and Atlanta GA! These two ladies had no prior modeling experience as none was needed for this session…. just a dress and creative freedom. I had planned on shooting rain or shine… luckily it was sunny but for the lovely models it was extremely cold this past Sunday. I really want to thank them for hanging in there even while their teeth were chattering =). I think the coolest part of the shoot was the “Rat Rod” (A rat rod is simply a custom car that is made for driving and hanging out with friends. Rat rods aren’t ultra glossy show cars. Instead a rat rod is a “unfinished” street rod that is intentionally left a bit rough around the edges.)… anyway we were headed to a location, walking across the street when we heard this loud noise approaching quickly… well blowing by us in a very unique looking car was Ben. We started yelling and whistling and finally got Ben’s attention and waved him back… I asked if we could shoot with his car and he gladly let us. It was a very cool car and fit the shoot well. Also Ben says the car is for sale and he built it from parts himself. Here are some shots from the session…. Enjoy!

They’re Good Friends and They’re Great Pictures

So Facebook is a tool that I use often use to find, meet and  admire other photographers work in my area and abroad. Thanks to Facebook I have gained a lot of friends and keep in contact with some great photographers that just a few years ago I would have never had the opportunity to see yet alone meet. Beth is one of those photographers that I ran up on with Facebook. We have tried in the past to work out a trade of services so we could shoot each others families… and like all photographers our schedules were just so hectic. Luckily before the wedding monsoon rolls in for me… I had a free Sunday so I contacted Beth and her friend Amber ( who has also tried to plan a session with me and our schedules never quite could get on the same page ) and mentioned that if they were still interested in pictures that this was probably the best opportunity. Both wanted something totally unique and different, so of course… I like junkyards and well that’s where we went. Here are just a few pictures from the shoot:

White House Salon is on Fire!

I am all about some “custom creative” photography. Anytime that I can do anything unique, creative and challenging…. I am usually jumping all over the opportunity. Casey the owner of White House Salon in Jefferson GA contacted me about doing this years themed Christmas card shoot for them. I wasn’t aware at first that she does a themed Christmas cards each year but I saw a few in the past and thought that it was a great idea…. not only because it’s probably fun for the girls but also that all of their clients are waiting to see what the next years theme will be. Well this year’s theme was a “fireman” based theme. It was really cool… they all put on pieces of turnout gear ( i think thats what it’s called )… we had two trucks to use and an impressed audience. It was a great session and turned out some really great pictures… as I knew we would get. Here are some for the shoot:
