Little Brantley…

This past Saturday’s shoot went awesome… little Brantley really knows how to work the camera and the best part is she is only 11 months old! A great personality and a precious smile was the right combination for this shoot. We really got some amazing pictures and I hope to work with lil Miss.Brantley in the future!

Happy Mothers Day…

So this shoot here means a lot to me because I finally got a chance to somewhat return a favor to a friend of mine. Long story short I am good friends with the Donna and Jason… well Donna is a great webdesigner and she built my very first website for a really good deal…. so in return i was going to do some pictures for her and her family…well she never got around to doing it… anyway i got with jason and we planed a secrete photo shoot of the kids while she was away in NYC… welp here it is!

Jay, Chase and the Gator.

This was the last of my shoots from last week and it ended great with the Ekards. Jay (big brother) and Chase (little brother of course) were a delight to shoot. Theses little guys are into just about everything at their grandparents house… Gator to ride, big dogs to play with, swimming pools and a lot more. This shoot was held at the home of their grandparents and man do they have a beautiful place… I just might have to check with Jeff and Sally to see if I can shoot there again… check out some of the shots from the shoot!

The Spear is Growing Fast!

Little ol’ Blake isn’t so little anymore… this guy is growing up so quick. I remember shooting Blake when he was just 3 months old and now he’s 3 years old. Where has time gone? Anyway, like always Blake is good in front of the camera… it took me awhile to get acquainted with him but once we did it was ON! Check out some the shots from the session…. -PS sorry Blake, i accidentally deleted the pictures of the squirrels

My Little Guy…

Well while i love to take pictures of other people and their kids… i also love to take pictures of my own. This is Owen… he’s our first and only child at the current time and he has us wrapped around his finger…shhhh don’t tell him I said that… but here are a few pictures from the O’man’s last shoot… -PS Reeses Pieces was the key for co-operation =)

Fastest Crawler in the World… not lying!

I got the opportunity to shoot an old friend of mine’s kids. I have known Carrie since 1995 and have know her husband Greg well before that from when we were tiny little hunters at B&B Hunting Club…wow that was a while ago. Greg also owns Huck’s Cafe’ in Commerce, GA if you are ever passing threw… stop at Huck’s Cafe… best steak sandwich and hamburgers anywhere!  Anyway back to the shoot now since I have just made myself hungry…. Little Nate and his sister Ava are just too cute and the pictures below will show it. Nate for the record… is probably the fastest crawler that I have ever shot… by the time his mom had put him down he was on the run or should i say crawl… but we still managed to get a lot of great shots of him and his sister.

Little Bo Parker…

Well it was time for little Bo Parkers 6 month shoot… the Parkers are favorite clients of mine. Tom is actually helping me put Owen threw college… thanks Tom! Check out some of the shots from little Bo’s session:

Little Ella Jane…

My first of two shoots this past sunday turned out to be a great one. Little Ella is a precious 6 month old who had such an adorable smile and made the sweetest noises. They traveled from Atlanta to Athens for the shoot and she was a great sport during the whole shoot… and the pictures show it…

The Kinney’s and the Murrell’s….

I just recently had two great shoots from two great families. The first shoot was really unique in that it was taken in a family owned hardware store in Jefferson. Kinney’s Feed and Seed as some of you may know it has been in business for 70 years and now it’s closing it’s doors as Kinney’s and reopening with new owners, so some of the Kinney family wanted their kids pictures taken there to remember the family business… and they made for some rather unique shots. The Murrell family braved the chilly air one sunday to take little Knox’s pictures who is just over a year old and his cute energetic sister’s pictures too… we got a lot of great shots from both shoots as you can see below.

Big Weekend at Hurricane Shoals Park…

Well…its that time of the year where everyone is cramming in the last minute holiday sessions. This past weekend I had 3 sessions at what seems to be the photographers hot spot (grrrrrr… i will find a new location…lol). Not really much to say about these, but I do want to thank the Holman’s, the McCallister’s and the Gibson’s for sticking with me threw this crazy rain and daylight savings time…i knew we would get us a date nailed down soon.

Lil Bo Parker…

My very first paying client ever, has ended up being one of my best promoters. Ashly and and Coach Tom Parker (go dragons) brought little Bo (thier 3 month old son) over to our house for pictures and supper! Not sure which turned out the best… the pictures of Lil Bo or the Sangria that Erica made… anyway here are a few shots from that shoot… ENJOY!

Kacy and Cole… and beautiful weather…

Hey guys its me again… i know…. its crazy…. i’m blogging again. Had a wonderful shoot today with a Kacy and Cole. Paula (the mom) wanted some different types of pictures for her kids…. she was tired of the regular old $150 boring posed 30 minutes of shoot time photo session. So, with that being said i was all over this one… anything out of the norm is right up my alley. We hit a few of my favorite (secrete) hot spots around athens.. below is a slight taste of how the session went. THEY WERE ROCK STARS!

The Martain’s…

So this is probably the one guy outside of family that I have known longer than any other person that I am around… Heath Martin (a good friend for about 30 years now) and his lovely family: Misty, Maddie and Maverick. We shot at one of the local state parks… a very beautiful setting on a very nice day (it wasn’t raining..). Below are some shots from the day…. Enjoy!

Trace and Karson…

I had the privilege of shooting the kids of a friend from high school (Emily). I haven’t seen Emily in person I guess since… 95′ and it was good to see her again. She said that I had my work cut out for me with little Karson… but after about 20 minutes and a little help from her mom, she really loosened up and we made some great pictures. Trace on the other hand is probably a future GQ model… he loved being in front of the camera and it shows. Even though it started to rain on us towards the last 10-15 minutes of our shoot… but it did not put a damper on anything. This was a real fun shoot for me and i think the kids as well. Check out some of the shots below.

Little Baby Rouse

Here is a cute little girl that I had the privilege to shoot on Wednesday. After her mom (Christie) and I waited for the flood of 2009 to end; we finally rescheduled the shoot and it could not have been a nicer evening to do it on. She was so good during the whole shoot (about an hour and a half), she didn’t even whimper. She did let us know at the very end that it was probably time to wrap it up…lol! Here are a few shots from the session. Enjoy!

New Season… New Camera… New Inspiration

YES… YES I know it has been way too long since i posted anything. The good part about that is that I have been major busy with pictures. Everyone keeps asking when I’m going to take that leap of faith and venture out on my own… I’m ready but my benefits and steady pay checks are not =). That’s another entry for anther day!

So, this what I have been up to lately: I have replinished and updated some of my gear starting with my most exciting purchase the Nikon D3. WOW… is all I can say. I have gotten a couple of new lenses along the way (Nikon 17-55 f2.8 and the Nikon 24-70 f2.8). I am currently taking a wedding and events photography class at UGA. You may ask yourself, why is he taking a class like that with more than 30+ weddings under his belt already… well i have a simple philosophy “when you stop learning, you stop caring”, deep huh! I am like a sponge in that I love to soak up new tips and tricks and tech talk and its always good to have a realm of photographers and designers who is willing to share information about the trade that we’re all in. Thanks already to Shannon, Craig, and Allyson for sharing ideas, tips, techniques and software. Along with the class this summer I have also shot two weddings and some wedding models for the class… which is posted below. I have a couple of kid shoots that turned out really well one of which is my son (slightly bi est when it comes to that shoot). Well let me stop blabbing and start posting some pictures. (there are a lot so get your scrolling finger loosened up)

Cotton & Elrod Pictures…

This past week was a busy one for me from the photography end. Not complaining by any means…but from last Sunday to this Sunday I had 4 shoots and thats GREAT. The two shoots that this post is about were of two cute little babies. One was just over a couple of weeks old and the other had just turned 3 months. Babies are always a challenge to shoot because you never know if they will feel up to the shoot or not. Fortunantly I had two great babies this past week thanks to the to the moms..way to go Brandi and Marisa. Here are a couple of shots from each shoot.
