Senior Sessions

Awesome Shoot! :: {senior and fashion photographer}

I love November through March… I purposely take that time off from client sessions to get all geared up for the upcoming year and while doing that I like to schedule fun portfolio builder sessions in between. This past Sunday I had one of those cool sessions! Another photographer and I have been collaborating about getting together and helping each other out in our shooting, lighting and posing… I love shooting around with other photographers if I have the time. Me and Jon Ruby from Jon Ruby Photography had planned this shoot and luckily for us Jon’s model contact had canceled last minute and I was able to get Ms. Megan, a previous senior I shot from earlier this past summer, to fill the role. She knocked this session out of the park just like she did her first one (Megan’s Senior Session). So here are a few shots from this session and I hope to be shooting some future sessions with her ::

Need for Speed :: {north ga senior photographer}

Another senior shot earlier today… this was a good one too! Meet Rhett… an East Jackson Senior… his mom contacted me a few weeks ago about getting some last minute senior pictures done… well I love to shoot seniors because of the creative level that I try to take each shot too… well this session was no different and I was actually pretty excited to get the chance to shoot this one because it was going to involve a mean, fast and loud dirt bike… so I grabbed my gear and my speed light and off I went… here are a few shots from the session. PS- Rhett’s first ever race is next month in December (good luck!) ::

Jefferson Dragon Senior :: {senior photographer}

Just when I thought all the fun was over for this 2012 senior season… I have currently booked two more (not too late seniors). Cain’s mom booked me about 3 weeks ago after a little prodding from me at the hair salon. I am always excited to do the senior sessions because I try and make them unique and this one would be no different. This senior fellow, another one from my old stomping ground in Jefferson, has quite the decorated accolades sewn all over his jacket. I thought I had a lot of patches back in 95 but his jacket pretty much put mine to shame. Anyway…. here are a few shots from today’s session ::

Long Ball Senior Session :: { commerce ga senior photographer }

Well… the time has come and this session was or is “unofficially” my last booked senior session of the year until maybe another senior books one. Anyway what a great session to go out on. We knocked this one out of the park (no pun intended… you’ll see why later). Colton is a big guy, I swear we never grew ball players like this when I was coming along way back in 95′ =). His mom scheduled the session like 100% of my guy seniors this year, but also like the other 100% of the guys… we got some great shots and used what is becoming my stamp for these parts… some cool creative lighting! With out anymore delay… check out some of Colton’s senior shots ::

25 career home runs for mr. davis…. yeah so that makes my 2 career home runs not so special…lol

Good Ole Hardy Boy :: {athens ga senior photographer}

WOW… guess who hasn’t had a blog post in way too long…. no comment =). Okay… so yeah this is my first post in awhile, BUT in my defense I do have two great bridal sessions to post ( i just can’t till after their weddings ), I have a great wedding from this weekend that will be posted on Tuesday, a few Fortographer’s post are a coming and two senior sessions to post…. one of which starts right now!

Senior 2012 sessions have been a blast and very creative this year. Every single shoot was a great blend of my style and the senior’s personality. This session was no different. Khole is just good ole plain laid back country boy… actually reminds me a lot of myself when I was his age. I have known his family for years. ( Mrs. Kay can cook yall! )… Kay his mom started talking to me about planing his pictures when I was shooting his main squeeze’s pictures earlier this year =)… Mrs. Kay did a great job with coming up with some cool locations and thanks to Mr. Tom for letting us use such a cool prop….  check out some of my favs from the session ::

Year of the Cannon :: { jefferson ga senior photographer}

I’m glad Cannon decided to Joiner in on the creative senior sessions… (okay so the play on words may have been a lil cheesey =). Anyway I was contacted several weeks ago by Cannon’s mom and we scheduled his senior session. The day was about perfect for a shoot, overcast (great for portraits btw), cool temperatures and another senior willing to get some great shots. We started out at my old faithful… I have shot several seniors, engagements and bridals there so every time I go it’s a challenge to make it look new and different… either way we deff got some great shots. Cannon brought a long his guitar for a few shots and played a few chords in between…. Here are a few quick peeks from Cannon’s session last night ::

Quite Frankly :: {north ga senior photographer}

Senior session #8 on the books…. and a fun one at that as usual. I am extremely happy that like my last two sessions, I have broke the ice into a new market (aka high school). Megan is my first Franklin County senior that I have shot… hopefully many more to follow, but I must say I owe it all to Facebook to how I booked her. I guess my tagging and crazy self-promos are working after all. Anyway, back to the shoot… I could tell Megan was no stranger to the camera as the photos showed! Great choice of outfits and a good array of accessories as well for the location choices… Without anymore delay here are a few sneak peeks ::

Titan Country :: {north ga senior photographer}

It won’t be long the Dragons of Jefferson (my hometown team) and the North Oconee Titans will be going at it on the ole grid iron. Well I was at the home of the Titans this past week and it wasn’t for a football game, it was for yet another incredible senior shoot! A past co-worker of mine booked me to shoot her daughter Breanna… they had several locations already picked out and in mind. The session went great despite the heat…. Breanna was a little shy out of the gate but warmed up quickly and the smiles were shining from then on. Here are a few shots from the session… ::

Mansions and Mustangs :: {north ga senior photographer}

Sooooo…. another senior session and more great shots. This girl Bridget is friends with this girl Carly (parking deck GTO… ring a bell) who I a shot just a few weeks ago. Thanks to word of mouth I was able to finally break into the Banks County market (uh oh…. the photography monopoly may be over)… Go Leopards (whats up coach Hanley!!!…. we graduated together by the way everybody)…. Anyway this shoot like the rest was pretty cool. It was taken at a house that probably could put most to shame that has been on MTV Cribs tv show….. this place was absolutely amazing, we actually could have done the whole session there! Anyway after I picked my jaw up off the ground we got started shooting. Also…. Bridgets dad is friends with Carlys dad and he has the kick tail GTO… well Bridgets dad brought out a 1969 Mustang Mach 1…. wow!! Man I have been lucky thus far shooting some pretty cool vehicles with some just as cool seniors… (is cool still cool to say?…. maybe I should substitute the word “sick”… I learned that one last session =)… okay anyway…. here is a sneak peek from the session at the mansion ::

“Sick”… Senior Session :: {north ga senior photographer}

Another great senior session… not only because it has some kick a## pictures, but because I have learned a new meaning for an old word…  Sick [sik] adjective: – crazy, cool and insane. This word was used a few times during the session and in a few comments on the post… I kinda like it, I like the idea that my work is “sick” ;) …. Anyway, other than learning a new term this session, it was pretty awesome. I love stepping outside of the norm if you know me and this session like the others so far this year was just that. Very cool locations and ideas I must say…  Lori (the cool mom) and Andrew came up with them all on their own…. they told me me what and i shot it with my own twist. My favorite was obviously the baseball field and I think that the weight room turned out well too… or “sick”…lol. Anyway check out these “sick” sneak peeks::

2012 Senior… Wright Here, Wright Now :: {athens ga senior photographer}

Senior session 1 of 2 for this week… and this was a great one. Carly’s mom and I have been planning this session for about 2 weeks and I think we pretty much planned it perfectly. We got some GREAT pictures in some very cool locations. Thanks to Mr. Perry for bringing along his 1960′s Pontiac GTO…. A pretty bad a%# car by the way. I knew from the beginning that these were going to be some awesome shots…. because when they look good on the LCD screen… they are going to be great on the big screen!! Carly was quite the model, she didn’t say much but she was deff working the camera. Oh and for the record… when we shot in the tall grass, she was not afraid of the weeds and the unseen critters running around… really she wasn’t =). So without anymore delay… here we go:

Looking for Strikes :: {jefferson ga senior photographer}

Class of 2012 seniors continue with Mr. Blair… Blair is the brother of BC whom I shot his wedding back in May. We planned this shoot a few weeks ago… and if you know me or my work then you know that I am all about something different… I was reminded that Blair was a pretty incredible bowler (or that’s how he worded it lol)… so you know me I want to get some shots inside the bowling alley. OH YEAH… thanks to Jefferson Lanes for opening up and letting us in for about 30 minutes to shoot. So after the bowling we hit up the football and ended with whats becoming the trademark for SGP Seniors… the car shoot…lol. Here are a few sneak peeks from the session::

2012 Senior Session :: {athens senior photographer}

Have I mentioned that I like creative photography…. maybe once or twice if I had to guess! That is the biggest reason that I love doing the senior sessions, they all want something new and uniquely to themselves and that is what keeps me pushing the envelope to the next session. Ms. Hanna booked me a few weeks ago and we did a lil planning on where we would start shooting and where we would end up. I must say that this whole shoot was fun, but for me the very end of it was the best because…. we were racing against the sun and the remaining light of day that was left to steal a few more awesome shots before it got dark… well that is exactly what happened… so congrats to Hanna on her upcoming senior year and she is kicking it off right with some awesome pictures… check out a few from the session.

Broke the ICE for 2012 :: {senior photographer}

Soooo this year so far has been a good one for starting out with a bang!… My first wedding of this years season was at Piedmont Park and Park Tavern, and I set the bar high for the rest of my wedding season. Well it looks as if I may have done the same thing again except with the kick-off of my senior season. I had this shoot last night with Ms. Paige whom goes to the same high school that I graduated from… (Go Dragons and whats up coach DuBose!) and this shoot was just fun all the way around. We collaborated  for about two weeks or so kicking around a few ideas and naming a few locations… finally it all came together. She did her thing and let me do mine… and together we got some GREAT shots to kick of her senior year and my senior season. We pretty much covered it all in this shoot from beautiful portraits, old grunge backgrounds, cool commercial like vehicle shots to even some good ol’ attitude looks Jtown style! I hear Paige is pretty good at softball and wins coaches awards in golf, but she surely was a natural in front of the camera… almost as if she has done this for. Maybe I will get the chance to work with her again on down the road. I want to give a quick thank you to Hillary (the light lady) for holding my lights as I forgot my stands… Thanks! For more info on my senior sessions click here or contact me directly. Here are a few images from Paige’s session:

Big Trucks and Big Fields.

Its good to shoot a guy from time to time in my senior sessions just to let people know that I can shoot them…lol. Anyway here is a Senior from East Jackson High School that had a cool family farm location that we shot at… I liked the change of pace a bit from girl to guy… we got to do a little different stuff. Here are a few shots from session:

Senior Testimonials…

As my senior year approached I knew I wanted more than just the standard high school pictures. I was looking for something different than the normal. Scott Greene did not only make my senior photos, he made it an experience I will never forget. I felt as if I was his only client with all the attention and great ideas he had coming my way. His photography is more a work of art than just regular photos. I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone. After the photo shoot we were able to receive a sneak peek of the photos online at Facebook.com. After receiving the sneak peek, Scott had my disc ready in a couple of days. The disc is not just a typical disc with your name on it. It has a picture of you on it. This is a step above all other photographers. Scott is the best photography and there is no dough that I will use him in years to come. Great Job Scott!

-Emily

My experience with Scott was superb, in all aspects. Right from the beginning of the shoot he allowed me to express my ideas of what I wanted, but he also gave me many suggestions that I liked and took. He was very flexible with where we shot the pictures and did not have a set studio to fulfill the session. I had never heard of a photographer doing so before. He also approved of me bringing my dog, Bud, to get in some of the shots and liked the idea to incorporate him. Throughout the session he was patient with Bud to get the shot he wanted and was with me as well. After the shooting part was done, he finished editing the pictures in just a matter of days. It literally was 3 days after my session when I viewed the album. Not only did he give us really good deals on buying pictures from him, but he also sent us a CD of ALL the pictures he took during the session. This allowed me to go and print the pictures at my will. Convenience. I would highly recommend Scott Greene Photography to anyone who needs pictures to be taken for any event or occasion. I plan to use his services for any future events I have myself.

Kickin It In The Sticks… Class of 2011

So it seems as if my 2011 senior season seems to be wrapping up…. and wow has it been a great one. I was contacted awhile back to shoot Jenna’s pictures and while we were ready to go two weeks ago, the weather thought differently and we rescheduled it of course and we couldn’t have asked for a better day than we had today. We shot at a farm which was a friend of her mothers… they had about everything and every kind of backdrop that we could imagine. So we began to “Kick It In The Sticks” (she likes Brantley too, I saw the CD in her car). When we got done on the farm… we booked it over to Commerce to finish up the shoot with her car as the center piece. This is one of the reasons why I REALLY love shooting the senior pictures… they are open to so much creative options. Jenna pulled her car into position and I quickly began the lighting setup all while trying to beat sundown and keep what ambient light was left to shoot under… well I made it and we got some great shots… check them out!

Mikki & Buddy…

What a great shoot this was. Ms. Mikki and her best four legged friend Buddy… were the subjects of my senior session this past Sunday. Mikki is an EJHS senior this year and had gotten in touch with me awhile back and wanted to book a session in September with hopes that it would be a lot cooler then…well good call Mikki, we couldn’t have asked for better weather. I was informed that she would be bringing  her 12 year old friend Australian Shepard named Buddy. Buddy actually did really well as a model… actually it may have been his first ever model debut! Anyway the session went very well and here are a few pictures from the session: (still not too late seniors to book a session)

Taylor… Class of 2011

Sooo… what a great shoot this was…on several different levels. To begin with I got the initial call from Taylor’s sister just minutes before I was to have my first ever root canal… yes i was getting up the nerve to go inside when the call came in, well needless to say i am always excited to get a shoot, especially a senior session… so this made the trip inside the endodontics office a little better. (for the record a root canal was not all that i had built it up to be) Anyway Taylor showed up this past Sunday with her boyfriend and we hit several locations and finished up at my friends place for the pasture shots (Dancing Tree Farms – Great Horse Boarding in Madison County). We started out a little more traditional style of shooting… then she wanted a little more urban, I loved shooting in the parking deck because anytime i get the chance to use any off camera lighting i jump to it. All in all this was one of my favorite senior sessions… my goal is to push my self a little more and to try to top the previous session… This year I am thank ful to have shot so many great seniors this year and still booking more almost everyday. Here are a few pictures from the shoot:

Down on the Farm…

After a scheduled two week break… it was time to get back at it, and what a great shoot to get me back in the groove! Leanna a little country girl that is a senior at Madison County, contacted me last week for the shoot… needless to say that I jumped all over it seeing how senior sessions have probably become my most favorite type of session to shoot. We started out in Athens and ended up “Down on the Farm” in Lula, GA. It was a lot of fun as most of them are but especially since she had a following of two to root her her own! Leanna was a little camera shy at first, but after the 10×10 exercise (thanks J. Star =)… and a few glimpses of the camera… you could see the confidence begin to boil… I will admit I faced a small fear of mine during this shoot… yes a 7ft 1300lb horse staring me down, but the horse was beautiful and very well trained so after a few minutes of being around it I was good to go! Here are a few shots from the session, as you can see Leanna has no problem taking good shots… the only problem was me trying to narrow some of my favorites to post… Checkem Out!

Yeah Mann… Great Shoot!

Another senior shoot resulted in more great pictures…. Emily is the class of 2011 from Madison County. This was a fun shoot in that we had mom, dad and a friend there to help root her on! We shot a few familiar places that she had seen some of her previous friends sessions and then we got creative when the sun went down… Anyone who says the modeling and shooting isn’t dangerous… ask Emily and I… she was attacked my killer mosquito’s and kept right on working the camera…. and then i was attacked by a mound of deadly ants and somehow found the strength to finish the shoot… LOL, it sounded good! Anyway check out the some of the shots…

Fastpitch and Pole Vaults…

Brooklyn (Brook) Watkins, an East Jackson senior this year and is ready to vault into her last year of high school. Brook and I go to the same church together (Southside…. come on over) so i was excited when her mom asked me to do her senior pictures. I learned that Brook is some athlete with her 1000 medals around her neck and a pole vaulting scholarship in the bag. We started out in Athens with a little more formal look and then headed on over to the high school where she was in her element. Both locations produced some really good shots… here are just a few from her session….

Skinner Done…. Not Yet

Sooooo this was the first senior this year from the same high school that i graduated from (come on 2011 J’town seniors)… Jefferson High School. This was an interesting shoot in that we were having so much fun and had so much good scenery (thanks to the Blackstock’s) that we actually ran out of daylight and have to finish the shoot at a later date. Even running out of time we got some great shots and i even had to think quick on my feet as the creek where we shot was basically too dark with all the tree coverage, so i grabbed the handy dandy SB900 and got a little OCF dramatic light going on. PS – not saying i did, but if i would have slipped on a slippery rock and fell on my behind while submerging my feet in water… i may would have sacrificed my body to save my D3 and SB900… just saying… “ouch” i’m still soar!
