No Rain Today :: { atlanta ga wedding photographer }

I got the privileged of shooting with AGW Photography this weekend in Atlanta. As always I love to side shoot and try to any chance I can when I have weekends off from my own booked weddings! This wedding actually extended my streak… my “rain free” streak… 56 weddings shot and not a rain out yet…. I should really use this as a selling feature…LOL. I really like the Atlanta venues as they add a slightly bit different look than most venues around my area. I met Courtney and Ben obviously the day of the wedding…. and what a really great couple and a good looking couple at that =). Here are just a few images from the big day as a side shooter… enjoy! :

Amanda and Kevin’s Big Day :: {north ga wedding photographer}

Meet the Chandlers…. the whole week was rainy leading in to February 4th. Even on the 4th, the day of the wedding, there was a 60% chance of rain. Fun Fact brides… out of 55 weddings… Scott Greene Photography has never had one to be rained out… had some close calls BUT no rain! This day (i thought my streak was going to end) proved no different… the rain stayed away and the sun even broke thru the clouds a few times! Not sure if you remember Amanda and Kevin, but they had the very cool Athens engagement session. This wedding was a true testimony of how powerful and emotional a First Look can be…. I was going to post a few pictures from it, but it was sooo special and sooo emotional that I am going to keep those for just Kevin and Amanda…. Without further delay here are a few sneak peeks from the Big Day…

2012 Underway :: {atlanta ga wedding photographer}

I hope everyone had a good Christmas and a good New Year’s! It’s been awhile since I had a post ( i know i know… i’m a slacker =)….! Soooo my 2012 is off to a great start already…. I have already booked more weddings than I have in previous years and my side shooting gigs are plentiful as well… This wedding hear was the first one of the year to get the ice broken on 2012. I was a side shooter on this one with NRP Photography. It was a Catholic wedding which I always find interesting to shoot as we don’t see many of those here in the sticks…lol. The reception was at a really cool location “103 West“. After the wedding we toured around the block and shot a few city scene pictures…. here are a few from the day ::

Trashing the Dress… OH YEAH! :: {marietta ga wedding photographer}

What a great way to end a GREAT 2011 wedding season! This Trash the Dress Session was actually purchased in Andi’s initial wedding package (thats right… she aint skeered!). Andi and Thomas were one of my favorite weddings from this past year… remember this one (click here). These sessions are always fun and creative… plus Andi had been studying up on how work this session. Andi is a fun bubbly gal with a very contagious smile… well this session her evil twin came out and threw on us some attitude… it was a good juxtapose to the normal Andi =). So with out any further delay… check out some shots from the session ::

Perry’s Landing Wedding :: {augusta, ga wedding photographer}

When I’m not shooting my own weddings… I LOVE to side shoot with other photographers, especially destination weddings. I was contracted by AGW Photography to side shoot this one! This wedding was great on several layers… it was my last of this year 2011, it was a destination wedding in Augusta GA at Perry’s Landing, and they were such a cool couple shoot. I’m glad I was asked to help out with this wedding… it was a blast! Anyway here are a few shots from that day… yay 2011! ::

Old Friend… New Start at The Carl House :: {atlanta wedding photographer}

An old friend of mine from years past (about 12 to be exact) just recently had a new start with her wonderful wedding on October 21st. Ellwyn got married at The Carl House in Auburn GA. I have had the privileged of shooting there once before and I have several booked there already in 2012… great venue and a great staff. Anyway Ellwyn contacted me sometime ago about shooting her wedding… needless to say I was excited because I had lost touch with her as she moved around the countryside. Living out in TX they were headed back this way to get married and well we booked it and made it happen. This was my last official wedding of the year, as I have one more to go that I am side shooting this month… It’s been a great wedding year and here are some great pictures from Ellwyn’s special day ::

Jessica and Kyle Said I Do! {athens ga wedding photographer}

I have really met and had the opportunity to photography some great couples and great venues. Well Jessica and Kyle, you’ve seen them already in past post with an engagement session and her bridal session… well here they are now doing the real thing, getting hitched! The wedding was held at the beautiful Tucker Plantation. What a great wedding this was… very fun and wonderful shots! There was a lot of tears throughout the day… i’m sorry but I love shooting those moments (so a big thanks to Jessica and Brianna for giving me most of those =). Anyway… here are some great sneak peek shots from the big day ::

Asheville Wedding Is Number 50! :: {asheville nc wedding photographer}

I love me some destination weddings… especially wonderful places like Asheville NC. This wedding was exciting to me in more than one way… 10 it was wedding number 50 for me and it was a destination wedding. Jessica… whom I posted her bridal session about a week ago was married last sunday at The Fields at Blackberry Cove. A very unique place tucked away in a valley of surrounding mountains. The leaves were just beginning to turn which added a nice glow to the scenery and background. Jessica and Mike are a great couple and I thank them for bringing me all the way to Asheville to document their most important day. Here are some sneak peek pictures from that day… enjoy::

Bridal Session at Tucker Plantation :: {athens ga wedding photographer}

I just got in just a few hours ago from shooting this lovely brides actual wedding at Tucker Plantation. We met for this bridal session there about a month ago and it has been killing me to post this one ever since. We got a little late start on shooting, plus it had been threatening rain the whole day and was over cast…. but right as we started shooting the skies opened up and gave some some great shooting conditions. Jessica was great and so where her helpers that day (chop chop =)… Anyway here are a few pictures from that bridal… stay tuned soon for the weddings pictures from earlier today ::

and for Jessica’s lil sister!!

Staghorn Chapel Bridal Session :: {athens ga wedding photographer}

So this is one of the bridals that I could not wait to post… so I actually wrote this exactly a week before the wedding… well the wedding has been over for a matter of hours now and I finally get to post. These pictures are great and I can not wait to get the wedding done to post it as well… This bridal was shot at the beautiful Staghorn Chapel in Nicholson GA. anyway I’ll cut this short and get to the pictures because I’m pretty sure that I’m still tired from shooting this wedding that technically has happened yet as I type this… okay so now I’m really confused, but here goes ::

Fall Wedding at the Higdon House :: {greensboro wedding photographer}

Ah finally another wedding blog post… This fall is going to be really busy for me with weddings. 5 weddings in the next 8 weeks… so stay tuned to check out some great pictures. This wedding was pretty cool in a few ways… one was that I was at the Higdon House in Greensboro, GA yet again this year (number 3 here this year I believe). The second is…. this was a Friday wedding and I originally had a wedding booked for the next day… so when Mandi contacted me about shooting it, in order not to over book myself and my clients I sent her info on some great photographers that I work closely with from time to time and just so happened she booked Neal Reeves Photography… so win win right…. long story short, that Saturday wedding of mine got rescheduled and NRP hired me out to shoot with him at Mandi’s wedding… so now its a win, win and win for all of us… =). Anyway here are a few of my sneak peeks from Mandi and Brandon’s big day – for the official pictures check out Neal Reeves Photography ::

Future brides… take notice of the excitement of this “First Look”… you can’t get this during ceremony! =)

Luckily Rosa (the Higdon House -house photographer? ), actually helped me here… I caught her flash in the background.

white boy can dance!

photographer can’t!… (neal reeves attempt at the Cupid Shuffle :)

Carl House Wedding :: {north ga wedding photographer}

I got to have an early sneak peek and first hand experience of a premier wedding venue, the Carl House  in Carl, GA. Ever since shooting weddings I have always wanted to shoot here… well I have one booked there on October 21st ( it’ll be before we know it Ellwyn =)… anyway I got the chance this past Saturday to experience it first hand at a reception there that I helped to side shoot. It is everything that I have ever heard it to be. Here are a few sneak peeks of the wedding and the reception at the famous Carl House ::

Lights, Camera… Marriage! :: {atlanta wedding photographer}

Wedding number two of the weekend… I was side shooting this one with AGW…. have I mentioned that I like to side shoot! This was a cool venue, The Strand Theatre in Marietta…. VERY challenging with the lighting… dark, low light and bright spotlights… a typical nightmare for a photographer…. but if you know me I am all about a good challenge just to see if I can do it! Well since I was hired to shoot… that’s just what I did, I got into my zone and got some great shots. My favorite shots I think were the most challenging and those were the first dance shots…. but to me they a turned out to be the most amazing…. checkout some of the shots from the night:

Wedding In Cleveland :: {north ga wedding photographer}

Did you guys know that I love to side shoot…LOL… I think I say that every time! Anyway this was wedding one that I shot with NRP in Cleveland, GA. It was a unique wedding with the ceremony being at a Church and the reception being at Babyland General…. I choose to post some shot from the ceremony location…. this is a quick post but here are a few shots from the wedding:

Wedding at the Melting Point :: {athens wedding photographer}

About a week ago I shot a wedding and a wonderful couple… Anna and Spencer…. at a really cool venue The Melting Point in Athens GA. I have previously shot a wedding at the Foundry Spa Inn where this place is located right beside, but I have always wanted to shoot here at The Melting Point. Thanks guys for allowing me the chance =). After a long 4th of July weekend… I have finished up the wedding pictures and man do they look good. I have said it before this season and I’m saying it now… I have been really blessed to book such wonderful couples and some wonderful venues and more to come. Here are a few sneak peeks from Anna and Spencer’s wedding…enjoy:

The Thackers Wedding! :: {north ga wedding photographer}

So it’s been quite sometime since my last blog post… I have been slacking a bit, but there is no better motivation for a blog post than a great wedding to show.  I shot Savannah and Ben’s engagement pictures a few months ago… (remember, that was the flat tire day), and well it was finally time for the big day. Ben and Savannah decided to do a “First Look” (as I think all brides should do =) so we got tons of great pictures without being rushed. Minus the squal line storm that came thru just as th ereception started… the day went perfect. Here is a little sneak peek of the day:

Ahhhh the intimate “First Look”……

Wedding at the Marietta Conference Center :: {wedding photographer}

This past Saturday I side shot a wedding with Neal Reeves Photography… I love to side shoot for anybody out there looking for one…. Anyway it was a very hot day but we pulled off some GREAT shots… here are a few sneak peeks:

Trashing the Dress Mountain Style :: {north ga wedding photographer}

Well the time had finally came… time for part 3 of Ms. Ashley’s Trash the Dress (TTD) session. This was originally supposed to be done last Sept , but after a few reschedules later… here we are and boy was it worth it! I have been looking forward to this water session for awhile. We have previously shot the Country/Urban session and the Junkyard session and now the infamous water session! (OH YEAH… anybody thinking of doing this but is a little timid of ruining their dress… guess what… after all of these session I am taking her dress and getting it dry cleaned and it will be as good as new….. so seeeeee you don’t have to ruin it to Rock It.) Anyway…. I had this place in mind since day one of shooting a few of my buddies fishing here some 4 years ago. Ashley and her mom jumped in the ol truck with me and off we went. After an hour or better ride and some misdirections from TomTom and Casey… thanks bud, we had finally arrived…. well I’m not sure what else I can say other than this was a FUN shoot not only for me but I think for Ashley as well…. The water was pretty frigid still but like a champ she had her game face on…. I’ll hush now and let you see.

For booking information on a Trash the Dress or a Rock the Dress… please contact me at scott@greeneworks.net or 706.296.5634.

Mr and Mrs Cain {athens ga wedding photographer}

Soooo NOW I can post the real deal. Carley and Brandon are officially hitched and documented. Since day one Carley trusted me with the direction to and creativity for her pictures. I strongly convinced her to do a “First Look” and she accepted and it was great… just ask her about it! We did the first look on north campus at the University of Georgia and their wedding reception was at the Commerce Civic Center. Well… there isn’t much more I can say about this wonderful couple that I haven’t already said in their previous two post (engagement and bridal). But I would like to thank them for letting me be a part of their special day… Thanks Guys! Check a few pictures from the big day!

A Poole of Fire: Trash the Dress {wedding photographer}

Got a phone call about 2 months ago from Mr. Poole… he had just been recently married at Hurricane Shoals Park and was looking on Google images and some of mine just happened to pop up (thank you blog =)… well he wanted my TTD aka Trash the Dress… services! I was delighted of course because these are one of my most favorite type of sessions to shoot… We corresponded a few times via email and he showed me some ideas of what him and Brandi were thinking…. and well as soon as I saw fire as one of the examples… Scott got all excited about this shoot (yes I just spoke in 3rd person!). Brandi and Josh put back on there wedding attire from that special day in March…. and we did a little ‘trashing”. The session worked out good with the old junk cars as it went with what was kind of a “rocking 40′s and 50′s look”. Here are some of the shots from the Poole’s Trash the Dress:

Rock that Dress Mrs.Cain {wedding photographer}

So Carley the day is here… obviously I have written this post before your wedding date, but I know you would kill me if I posted before hand so I won’t! Anyway for those of you guys out there… like I mentioned before in Carley and Brandon’s engagement session… she told me some 3 years ago that I was going to shoot her wedding and well I am either shooting it today on 5/21 or I have shot it yesterday b/c this is the Sunday after…. WELL now that we are all confused, here are a few pics from Carley’s bridals that we took two weeks prior to her wedding date…. she may call them bridals but I am putting these under my “Rock the Dress” category… way to go Carley =)… PS- she took a few special ones for her new husband the football coach, see if you can spot them! (had fun shooting the wedding tonight)

Wedding at Callanwolde Arts Center { atlanta photographer }

So… I think I have stated many times before… I LOVE TO SIDE SHOOT!!!!! =) I have various photographers that side shoot with me and in return they use me from time to time… well this past Saturday I had the privileged to shoot with the very talented Allyson Warrington of AGW Photography. The location of the wedding was a very beautiful place. The Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. So many photographic areas to shoot on the outside and on the inside. Here are just a few of my shots from the wedding:

Andi and Thomas are Married { Atlanta Wedding Photographer }

I tell you what… 2011 has blessed me with some great weddings thus far and even better couples! This wedding, no doubt is one of my favorites thus far. Thomas and Andi booked me awhile back ( thanks for the referral from Stacey Cooke Photography )and I drove down to his property near Peachtree City to scout the layout of the land… well it was and is a photographers paradise. The day actually started a little shakey for me… Thomas and Andi didn’t know this until now, but as I headed over to shoot Andi’s hair pictures I pulled my back out as I was putting my gear in my car and I was in some serious pain all day (ouch)….. AND to top that off as it wasn’t already enough, the beautiful hay fields that we shot in and were around for about 12 hours severely aggravated my allergies, but again I wasn’t going to let any of that slow me down on this big day…. and bust it wide open we did. Thomas and Andi, to say at the least, are some of the nicest and and most sincere people you could ever meet…. Andi has already booked a Trash the Dress with me in August… I can’t wait for that day, maybe we can get Thomas to put on an old suit to fill in the part as well =)… anyway I had a difficult time picking a few to post so here are a lot…lol. Thanks Guys!

Day After Session { Wedding Photographer Athens, GA }

So this is one of those “Happy Ending” stories… or at least I think so! Long story short, Ashley wanted to book me for her wedding this past Saturday the 3oth, well her mom was just 2 hrs too late from booking as I had just met and booked with another couple… bummer right? Well kind of… Ashley contacted me last week and asked if she could do my “Day After” session… Day After – putting back on the dress and or Tux and shooting pictures in a more relaxed, more creative and less stressful environment… ( and like this scenario, i do not have to shoot your actual wedding to do these =)… anyway I was flattered and accommodated her request Sunday morning… bad back, swollen eyes and going on 5hrs of sleep (a funny story for my next blog post… the Peachtree City Wedding)…. we met up and started shooting. Her and Daniel were a delight to work with and you could tell that the previous night was something special as they had that flirty feeling still with them… I’m glad that she contacted me and I was able to be apart of one of the most special times in their lives.
