Asheville Wedding Is Number 50! :: {asheville nc wedding photographer}

I love me some destination weddings… especially wonderful places like Asheville NC. This wedding was exciting to me in more than one way… 10 it was wedding number 50 for me and it was a destination wedding. Jessica… whom I posted her bridal session about a week ago was married last sunday at The Fields at Blackberry Cove. A very unique place tucked away in a valley of surrounding mountains. The leaves were just beginning to turn which added a nice glow to the scenery and background. Jessica and Mike are a great couple and I thank them for bringing me all the way to Asheville to document their most important day. Here are some sneak peek pictures from that day… enjoy::

Bridal Session at Tucker Plantation :: {athens ga wedding photographer}

I just got in just a few hours ago from shooting this lovely brides actual wedding at Tucker Plantation. We met for this bridal session there about a month ago and it has been killing me to post this one ever since. We got a little late start on shooting, plus it had been threatening rain the whole day and was over cast…. but right as we started shooting the skies opened up and gave some some great shooting conditions. Jessica was great and so where her helpers that day (chop chop =)… Anyway here are a few pictures from that bridal… stay tuned soon for the weddings pictures from earlier today ::

and for Jessica’s lil sister!!

Staghorn Chapel Bridal Session :: {athens ga wedding photographer}

So this is one of the bridals that I could not wait to post… so I actually wrote this exactly a week before the wedding… well the wedding has been over for a matter of hours now and I finally get to post. These pictures are great and I can not wait to get the wedding done to post it as well… This bridal was shot at the beautiful Staghorn Chapel in Nicholson GA. anyway I’ll cut this short and get to the pictures because I’m pretty sure that I’m still tired from shooting this wedding that technically has happened yet as I type this… okay so now I’m really confused, but here goes ::

Fall Wedding at the Higdon House :: {greensboro wedding photographer}

Ah finally another wedding blog post… This fall is going to be really busy for me with weddings. 5 weddings in the next 8 weeks… so stay tuned to check out some great pictures. This wedding was pretty cool in a few ways… one was that I was at the Higdon House in Greensboro, GA yet again this year (number 3 here this year I believe). The second is…. this was a Friday wedding and I originally had a wedding booked for the next day… so when Mandi contacted me about shooting it, in order not to over book myself and my clients I sent her info on some great photographers that I work closely with from time to time and just so happened she booked Neal Reeves Photography… so win win right…. long story short, that Saturday wedding of mine got rescheduled and NRP hired me out to shoot with him at Mandi’s wedding… so now its a win, win and win for all of us… =). Anyway here are a few of my sneak peeks from Mandi and Brandon’s big day – for the official pictures check out Neal Reeves Photography ::

Future brides… take notice of the excitement of this “First Look”… you can’t get this during ceremony! =)

Luckily Rosa (the Higdon House -house photographer? ), actually helped me here… I caught her flash in the background.

white boy can dance!

photographer can’t!… (neal reeves attempt at the Cupid Shuffle :)

Good Ole Hardy Boy :: {athens ga senior photographer}

WOW… guess who hasn’t had a blog post in way too long…. no comment =). Okay… so yeah this is my first post in awhile, BUT in my defense I do have two great bridal sessions to post ( i just can’t till after their weddings ), I have a great wedding from this weekend that will be posted on Tuesday, a few Fortographer’s post are a coming and two senior sessions to post…. one of which starts right now!

Senior 2012 sessions have been a blast and very creative this year. Every single shoot was a great blend of my style and the senior’s personality. This session was no different. Khole is just good ole plain laid back country boy… actually reminds me a lot of myself when I was his age. I have known his family for years. ( Mrs. Kay can cook yall! )… Kay his mom started talking to me about planing his pictures when I was shooting his main squeeze’s pictures earlier this year =)… Mrs. Kay did a great job with coming up with some cool locations and thanks to Mr. Tom for letting us use such a cool prop….  check out some of my favs from the session ::

Carl House Wedding :: {north ga wedding photographer}

I got to have an early sneak peek and first hand experience of a premier wedding venue, the Carl House  in Carl, GA. Ever since shooting weddings I have always wanted to shoot here… well I have one booked there on October 21st ( it’ll be before we know it Ellwyn =)… anyway I got the chance this past Saturday to experience it first hand at a reception there that I helped to side shoot. It is everything that I have ever heard it to be. Here are a few sneak peeks of the wedding and the reception at the famous Carl House ::

Quite Frankly :: {north ga senior photographer}

Senior session #8 on the books…. and a fun one at that as usual. I am extremely happy that like my last two sessions, I have broke the ice into a new market (aka high school). Megan is my first Franklin County senior that I have shot… hopefully many more to follow, but I must say I owe it all to Facebook to how I booked her. I guess my tagging and crazy self-promos are working after all. Anyway, back to the shoot… I could tell Megan was no stranger to the camera as the photos showed! Great choice of outfits and a good array of accessories as well for the location choices… Without anymore delay here are a few sneak peeks ::

Titan Country :: {north ga senior photographer}

It won’t be long the Dragons of Jefferson (my hometown team) and the North Oconee Titans will be going at it on the ole grid iron. Well I was at the home of the Titans this past week and it wasn’t for a football game, it was for yet another incredible senior shoot! A past co-worker of mine booked me to shoot her daughter Breanna… they had several locations already picked out and in mind. The session went great despite the heat…. Breanna was a little shy out of the gate but warmed up quickly and the smiles were shining from then on. Here are a few shots from the session… ::

Mansions and Mustangs :: {north ga senior photographer}

Sooooo…. another senior session and more great shots. This girl Bridget is friends with this girl Carly (parking deck GTO… ring a bell) who I a shot just a few weeks ago. Thanks to word of mouth I was able to finally break into the Banks County market (uh oh…. the photography monopoly may be over)… Go Leopards (whats up coach Hanley!!!…. we graduated together by the way everybody)…. Anyway this shoot like the rest was pretty cool. It was taken at a house that probably could put most to shame that has been on MTV Cribs tv show….. this place was absolutely amazing, we actually could have done the whole session there! Anyway after I picked my jaw up off the ground we got started shooting. Also…. Bridgets dad is friends with Carlys dad and he has the kick tail GTO… well Bridgets dad brought out a 1969 Mustang Mach 1…. wow!! Man I have been lucky thus far shooting some pretty cool vehicles with some just as cool seniors… (is cool still cool to say?…. maybe I should substitute the word “sick”… I learned that one last session =)… okay anyway…. here is a sneak peek from the session at the mansion ::

Hott and Humid :: {southeast wedding photographer}

I am very excited about this couple…. they booked me awhile back for their wedding up in Asheville NC this October…. this fall… leaves changing…. in a valley between two mountains…. can you tell I am somewhat, okay a lot excited about it. PLUS its a destination wedding for me… (Scott loves destination weddings). They came down on Tuesday to go ahead and do their engagement session. As I remembered details from the venue in Asheville, I thought about the perfect place here that resembles similar to what she was describing… anyway we loaded up and went to a buddy of mines place too shoot and Jessica could not have been more pleased with the grounds. Wait till she see’s these sneak peeks… without and more lip from me, here are a few:

2012 Senior… Wright Here, Wright Now :: {athens ga senior photographer}

Senior session 1 of 2 for this week… and this was a great one. Carly’s mom and I have been planning this session for about 2 weeks and I think we pretty much planned it perfectly. We got some GREAT pictures in some very cool locations. Thanks to Mr. Perry for bringing along his 1960′s Pontiac GTO…. A pretty bad a%# car by the way. I knew from the beginning that these were going to be some awesome shots…. because when they look good on the LCD screen… they are going to be great on the big screen!! Carly was quite the model, she didn’t say much but she was deff working the camera. Oh and for the record… when we shot in the tall grass, she was not afraid of the weeds and the unseen critters running around… really she wasn’t =). So without anymore delay… here we go:

Wedding In Cleveland :: {north ga wedding photographer}

Did you guys know that I love to side shoot…LOL… I think I say that every time! Anyway this was wedding one that I shot with NRP in Cleveland, GA. It was a unique wedding with the ceremony being at a Church and the reception being at Babyland General…. I choose to post some shot from the ceremony location…. this is a quick post but here are a few shots from the wedding:

2012 Senior Session :: {athens senior photographer}

Have I mentioned that I like creative photography…. maybe once or twice if I had to guess! That is the biggest reason that I love doing the senior sessions, they all want something new and uniquely to themselves and that is what keeps me pushing the envelope to the next session. Ms. Hanna booked me a few weeks ago and we did a lil planning on where we would start shooting and where we would end up. I must say that this whole shoot was fun, but for me the very end of it was the best because…. we were racing against the sun and the remaining light of day that was left to steal a few more awesome shots before it got dark… well that is exactly what happened… so congrats to Hanna on her upcoming senior year and she is kicking it off right with some awesome pictures… check out a few from the session.

Broke the ICE for 2012 :: {senior photographer}

Soooo this year so far has been a good one for starting out with a bang!… My first wedding of this years season was at Piedmont Park and Park Tavern, and I set the bar high for the rest of my wedding season. Well it looks as if I may have done the same thing again except with the kick-off of my senior season. I had this shoot last night with Ms. Paige whom goes to the same high school that I graduated from… (Go Dragons and whats up coach DuBose!) and this shoot was just fun all the way around. We collaborated  for about two weeks or so kicking around a few ideas and naming a few locations… finally it all came together. She did her thing and let me do mine… and together we got some GREAT shots to kick of her senior year and my senior season. We pretty much covered it all in this shoot from beautiful portraits, old grunge backgrounds, cool commercial like vehicle shots to even some good ol’ attitude looks Jtown style! I hear Paige is pretty good at softball and wins coaches awards in golf, but she surely was a natural in front of the camera… almost as if she has done this for. Maybe I will get the chance to work with her again on down the road. I want to give a quick thank you to Hillary (the light lady) for holding my lights as I forgot my stands… Thanks! For more info on my senior sessions click here or contact me directly. Here are a few images from Paige’s session:

Wedding at the Marietta Conference Center :: {wedding photographer}

This past Saturday I side shot a wedding with Neal Reeves Photography… I love to side shoot for anybody out there looking for one…. Anyway it was a very hot day but we pulled off some GREAT shots… here are a few sneak peeks:

Trashing the Dress Mountain Style :: {north ga wedding photographer}

Well the time had finally came… time for part 3 of Ms. Ashley’s Trash the Dress (TTD) session. This was originally supposed to be done last Sept , but after a few reschedules later… here we are and boy was it worth it! I have been looking forward to this water session for awhile. We have previously shot the Country/Urban session and the Junkyard session and now the infamous water session! (OH YEAH… anybody thinking of doing this but is a little timid of ruining their dress… guess what… after all of these session I am taking her dress and getting it dry cleaned and it will be as good as new….. so seeeeee you don’t have to ruin it to Rock It.) Anyway…. I had this place in mind since day one of shooting a few of my buddies fishing here some 4 years ago. Ashley and her mom jumped in the ol truck with me and off we went. After an hour or better ride and some misdirections from TomTom and Casey… thanks bud, we had finally arrived…. well I’m not sure what else I can say other than this was a FUN shoot not only for me but I think for Ashley as well…. The water was pretty frigid still but like a champ she had her game face on…. I’ll hush now and let you see.

For booking information on a Trash the Dress or a Rock the Dress… please contact me at scott@greeneworks.net or 706.296.5634.

Mr and Mrs Cain {athens ga wedding photographer}

Soooo NOW I can post the real deal. Carley and Brandon are officially hitched and documented. Since day one Carley trusted me with the direction to and creativity for her pictures. I strongly convinced her to do a “First Look” and she accepted and it was great… just ask her about it! We did the first look on north campus at the University of Georgia and their wedding reception was at the Commerce Civic Center. Well… there isn’t much more I can say about this wonderful couple that I haven’t already said in their previous two post (engagement and bridal). But I would like to thank them for letting me be a part of their special day… Thanks Guys! Check a few pictures from the big day!

A Poole of Fire: Trash the Dress {wedding photographer}

Got a phone call about 2 months ago from Mr. Poole… he had just been recently married at Hurricane Shoals Park and was looking on Google images and some of mine just happened to pop up (thank you blog =)… well he wanted my TTD aka Trash the Dress… services! I was delighted of course because these are one of my most favorite type of sessions to shoot… We corresponded a few times via email and he showed me some ideas of what him and Brandi were thinking…. and well as soon as I saw fire as one of the examples… Scott got all excited about this shoot (yes I just spoke in 3rd person!). Brandi and Josh put back on there wedding attire from that special day in March…. and we did a little ‘trashing”. The session worked out good with the old junk cars as it went with what was kind of a “rocking 40′s and 50′s look”. Here are some of the shots from the Poole’s Trash the Dress:

Rock that Dress Mrs.Cain {wedding photographer}

So Carley the day is here… obviously I have written this post before your wedding date, but I know you would kill me if I posted before hand so I won’t! Anyway for those of you guys out there… like I mentioned before in Carley and Brandon’s engagement session… she told me some 3 years ago that I was going to shoot her wedding and well I am either shooting it today on 5/21 or I have shot it yesterday b/c this is the Sunday after…. WELL now that we are all confused, here are a few pics from Carley’s bridals that we took two weeks prior to her wedding date…. she may call them bridals but I am putting these under my “Rock the Dress” category… way to go Carley =)… PS- she took a few special ones for her new husband the football coach, see if you can spot them! (had fun shooting the wedding tonight)

Wedding at Callanwolde Arts Center { atlanta photographer }

So… I think I have stated many times before… I LOVE TO SIDE SHOOT!!!!! =) I have various photographers that side shoot with me and in return they use me from time to time… well this past Saturday I had the privileged to shoot with the very talented Allyson Warrington of AGW Photography. The location of the wedding was a very beautiful place. The Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. So many photographic areas to shoot on the outside and on the inside. Here are just a few of my shots from the wedding:

Andi and Thomas are Married { Atlanta Wedding Photographer }

I tell you what… 2011 has blessed me with some great weddings thus far and even better couples! This wedding, no doubt is one of my favorites thus far. Thomas and Andi booked me awhile back ( thanks for the referral from Stacey Cooke Photography )and I drove down to his property near Peachtree City to scout the layout of the land… well it was and is a photographers paradise. The day actually started a little shakey for me… Thomas and Andi didn’t know this until now, but as I headed over to shoot Andi’s hair pictures I pulled my back out as I was putting my gear in my car and I was in some serious pain all day (ouch)….. AND to top that off as it wasn’t already enough, the beautiful hay fields that we shot in and were around for about 12 hours severely aggravated my allergies, but again I wasn’t going to let any of that slow me down on this big day…. and bust it wide open we did. Thomas and Andi, to say at the least, are some of the nicest and and most sincere people you could ever meet…. Andi has already booked a Trash the Dress with me in August… I can’t wait for that day, maybe we can get Thomas to put on an old suit to fill in the part as well =)… anyway I had a difficult time picking a few to post so here are a lot…lol. Thanks Guys!

Amber’s Big Day in Hartwell

I met Amber awhile back during a session that I shot of her and her friend Beth ( BMAC Session ). Amber is a really energetic gal with a lot of spunk! She contacted some few weeks later after the first session and asked if I could shoot a session of just her as she was turning 30… I meant 26 =). So of course any opportunity that I get to take pictures.. especially cool and unique shots… i jumped on it! Amber has become a master of what she has coined the “Solid Face”… for the record I like the solid face! Anyway we shot around Hartwell and I must say there are some pretty cool spots around there off the beaten path… I will more than likely be scheduling more shoots around there again. So without further delay… here are several shots from the session…

Trashing the Dresses around Athens GA

So I put I a call out about two weeks ago for a FREE trash the dress session for any takers that were willing. I got a lot of inquiries about it but only really a couple of serious ones. Ladies and gentlemen meet Jessica and Shelli from Augusta and Atlanta GA! These two ladies had no prior modeling experience as none was needed for this session…. just a dress and creative freedom. I had planned on shooting rain or shine… luckily it was sunny but for the lovely models it was extremely cold this past Sunday. I really want to thank them for hanging in there even while their teeth were chattering =). I think the coolest part of the shoot was the “Rat Rod” (A rat rod is simply a custom car that is made for driving and hanging out with friends. Rat rods aren’t ultra glossy show cars. Instead a rat rod is a “unfinished” street rod that is intentionally left a bit rough around the edges.)… anyway we were headed to a location, walking across the street when we heard this loud noise approaching quickly… well blowing by us in a very unique looking car was Ben. We started yelling and whistling and finally got Ben’s attention and waved him back… I asked if we could shoot with his car and he gladly let us. It was a very cool car and fit the shoot well. Also Ben says the car is for sale and he built it from parts himself. Here are some shots from the session…. Enjoy!

They’re Good Friends and They’re Great Pictures

So Facebook is a tool that I use often use to find, meet and  admire other photographers work in my area and abroad. Thanks to Facebook I have gained a lot of friends and keep in contact with some great photographers that just a few years ago I would have never had the opportunity to see yet alone meet. Beth is one of those photographers that I ran up on with Facebook. We have tried in the past to work out a trade of services so we could shoot each others families… and like all photographers our schedules were just so hectic. Luckily before the wedding monsoon rolls in for me… I had a free Sunday so I contacted Beth and her friend Amber ( who has also tried to plan a session with me and our schedules never quite could get on the same page ) and mentioned that if they were still interested in pictures that this was probably the best opportunity. Both wanted something totally unique and different, so of course… I like junkyards and well that’s where we went. Here are just a few pictures from the shoot:
