EJHS Senior :: {atlanta and north ga photographer}
Kicking off the 2014 Senior Season a little earlier this year…. Teaming up with 2 other photographers and one really cool senior makes for a great afternoon. Samantha Beauchamp Photography contacted me a few weeks ago to collaborate with her on a senior session that she had coming up… with our different styles of work she felt we could really give him a diverse set of images… I then asked if I could take it a bit further and I mentioned bringing on another talented shooter… Antonio Little Photography… with us 3 in place it was sure to be a cool session and I knew we were going to have a lot of fun… so a big thanks SBP and ALP for a great evening of shooting and a special big thanks to Austin for hanging in there with us for a little over 3 hours…. it was well worth it. Here are my share of images from the shoot check them out….

Das Senior :: {north ga senior photographer}
As my senior season is starting slow down a bit… this session with Sydney was really cool because she is my first real non-local senior… whoo hoo i’m going regional…lol… just kidding but she is from up in Cumming GA. We had a great shoot and hit several of my favorite locations which are all new to those seniors… We dodged the rain and ended up with a very pretty, somewhat windy afternoon. Oh yeah, shes drives a cool car too.. VDUB =)… lol. Anyway check out some of the shots below ::
Cason 2013 Senior :: { senior photographer }
Who would have thought that hurricane Sandy would have brought so much wind and cold weather on a Sunday afternoon… brrrrr. Well she did, Sandy tried to deter us from shooting… I know she did some of my other photog friends that day (yall big ol chickens…lol), but not us. Cason was a trooper and I mean trooper between the wind whipping, cold weather nipping and mom yelling about fixing hair…. she muscled thru the session and we got some great shots…. check out a few from this Dragon Senior ::
See the Light :: { photography class }
Its been a long while since I have posted one of these… so since my 2012 Senior Season is coming to an end (it has been an amazing season btw)… I figured I would post a few cheat sheets for some of you out there that may be interested…. and like Peter always wants to know… “whats my secrete you ask Peter… SAMS Club AA Batteries
Check these Cheat Sheets out::
Flash Units were all Nikon SB900, 800 speed lights
Summer Time! :: { georgia senior photographer }
Ms. Summer is a senior… Last time I saw Summer was actually about 4 years ago, I shot her older sisters wedding and Summer was in it of course. I really enjoyed this session for several reasons… one Summer is great in front of the camera and two we shot away from her hometown to get some cool and different looks. I mean parking decks and graffiti walls… how much more cooler could you get in the Summer time…(okay cheesey joke but I laughed). Check out some great shots below ::
Tiger Town Senior :: { senior photographer }
Meet Josh… a 2013 Senior at Commerce High School…. I must say that I’m showing my age a little bit when I am starting to shoot the senior kids of some of the parents that I went to school with… =). Josh’s mom and I went to the same high school, she was a few years ahead of me but nonetheless a fellow alumni. I was contacted a few months ago to shoot this session and we started planning a little early… we had big plans of doing a wrestling themed shoot in the new gym… but as we didn’t know nor the coach that got us in…. the lights don’t work on the weekends inside the new gym….??? , but we improvised and rocked out a few cool gym shots anyway… It was great to see Jennifer again, meet Josh and if uncle Jeff is reading this (my class mate in school)… hows it going? Check out some of the shots we got below ::
Heat Wave and Wind Blast :: { georgia senior photographer }
Sooooo… going into Kerri’s senior session this past weekend I was worried about the triple digit temperatures, but to my surprise it was some freakish “monsoon easterly crazy fast wind” that about post-pone this session… Luckily when we got to downtown Commerce the winds had died down a bit and by the end of the session it was perfect! We also had planned to shoot at the local high school (won’t say which one
to shoot under a few of the lights at the football field for some very cool cheer leading pictures BUT we didn’t have an extra $100 in our budget to pay for that… booo! Anyway as fate would have it, since we weren’t there shooting at dusk we found a field and got some amazing pictures there instead… take that football! HA!…lol. j/k. Xheck out a few of these great shots from this past Sunday ::
Mountain View Senior :: { ga senior photographer }
Meet Caitlin… 2013 senior, country girl, cross-country medalist and super model…. well I was kinda kidding about the super model part, but she very well could be… her and my camera got along very well! Caitlin is from Mountain View High School out in Gwinnett (thats right lil ol me is crackin into that market =)… MVHS is a fairly new school and she said that she will be in the first graduating class from there… pretty cool. This shoot was pretty much flawless minus the 100 degree temps and a few ticks here and there in the tall grass… but without any more delay… check out these shots ::
Challenge… :: {athens ga photographer}
I started a group on Facebook called “JPG Joing Photographers in Georgia” and well a series of fitness shoots were and had been going on and around the group for sometime now. Most of them were studio styled sessions… staged props… no doubt the shots looked great and were beneficial to those involved… I however have never done the fitness/workout type of shots or session before, but if you know me I am always up for a challenge. I wanted to take a slightly different approach… okay a lot different approach… ALSO if you know me I am usually against the grain anyway…! My inspiration for what I wanted to do was more along the lines of a Nike Ad or something like a Gatorade Ad, you know the ones, hard directional lighting, very dark and contrasty and slightly desaturated… YEAH sounds amazing eh? Well I design ads for a national advertising company as my 9-5 job and we have a client (Bodyplex in Athens) that I deal with on a fairly regular basis… The owner is great and very down to earth so I just asked him one day what I was thinking in terms of my shoot and wanted someone fit, strong, ripped… he knew what I was getting at and introduced me to his manager… well she was a joy to shoot and probably soar afterwards as she lifted weights probably more for the shots than she might have done in her normal workouts… so a BIG Thanks to Chris, Candice and Bodyplex of Athens for letting me shoot. Check out some of my shots ::
2013 Senior Kick-Off with Maegan :: {senior photographer}
Ahhhh… it’s just about my favorite time of the year…. SENIOR SESSION TIME! Hello Class of 2013!
Meet Maegan… I got to kick off the season a bit early this year with her! I brainstormed a little and had few ideas to try and she was game for them all. I have known her dad for quite sometime and we are all Jeffersonian alums =). We got a lot of GREAT shots and here are just a few… it was hard narrowing it down but I tried…. I look forward to shooting some of Maegan’s friends and I also look forward shooting some great sessions in the surrounding area’s (JCCHS, EJHS, CHS, BCHS, WBHS, FCHS… Athens area schools, Gwennett Co, Hall Co and any others in North GA… )

Mansions and Mustangs :: {north ga senior photographer}
Sooooo…. another senior session and more great shots. This girl Bridget is friends with this girl Carly (parking deck GTO… ring a bell) who I a shot just a few weeks ago. Thanks to word of mouth I was able to finally break into the Banks County market (uh oh…. the photography monopoly may be over)… Go Leopards (whats up coach Hanley!!!…. we graduated together by the way everybody)…. Anyway this shoot like the rest was pretty cool. It was taken at a house that probably could put most to shame that has been on MTV Cribs tv show….. this place was absolutely amazing, we actually could have done the whole session there! Anyway after I picked my jaw up off the ground we got started shooting. Also…. Bridgets dad is friends with Carlys dad and he has the kick tail GTO… well Bridgets dad brought out a 1969 Mustang Mach 1…. wow!! Man I have been lucky thus far shooting some pretty cool vehicles with some just as cool seniors… (is cool still cool to say?…. maybe I should substitute the word “sick”… I learned that one last session =)… okay anyway…. here is a sneak peek from the session at the mansion ::
2012 Senior… Wright Here, Wright Now :: {athens ga senior photographer}
Senior session 1 of 2 for this week… and this was a great one. Carly’s mom and I have been planning this session for about 2 weeks and I think we pretty much planned it perfectly. We got some GREAT pictures in some very cool locations. Thanks to Mr. Perry for bringing along his 1960′s Pontiac GTO…. A pretty bad a%# car by the way. I knew from the beginning that these were going to be some awesome shots…. because when they look good on the LCD screen… they are going to be great on the big screen!! Carly was quite the model, she didn’t say much but she was deff working the camera. Oh and for the record… when we shot in the tall grass, she was not afraid of the weeds and the unseen critters running around… really she wasn’t =). So without anymore delay… here we go:
2012 Senior Session :: {athens senior photographer}
Have I mentioned that I like creative photography…. maybe once or twice if I had to guess! That is the biggest reason that I love doing the senior sessions, they all want something new and uniquely to themselves and that is what keeps me pushing the envelope to the next session. Ms. Hanna booked me a few weeks ago and we did a lil planning on where we would start shooting and where we would end up. I must say that this whole shoot was fun, but for me the very end of it was the best because…. we were racing against the sun and the remaining light of day that was left to steal a few more awesome shots before it got dark… well that is exactly what happened… so congrats to Hanna on her upcoming senior year and she is kicking it off right with some awesome pictures… check out a few from the session.
A Poole of Fire: Trash the Dress {wedding photographer}
Got a phone call about 2 months ago from Mr. Poole… he had just been recently married at Hurricane Shoals Park and was looking on Google images and some of mine just happened to pop up (thank you blog =)… well he wanted my TTD aka Trash the Dress… services! I was delighted of course because these are one of my most favorite type of sessions to shoot… We corresponded a few times via email and he showed me some ideas of what him and Brandi were thinking…. and well as soon as I saw fire as one of the examples… Scott got all excited about this shoot (yes I just spoke in 3rd person!). Brandi and Josh put back on there wedding attire from that special day in March…. and we did a little ‘trashing”. The session worked out good with the old junk cars as it went with what was kind of a “rocking 40′s and 50′s look”. Here are some of the shots from the Poole’s Trash the Dress:
Trashing the Dresses around Athens GA
So I put I a call out about two weeks ago for a FREE trash the dress session for any takers that were willing. I got a lot of inquiries about it but only really a couple of serious ones. Ladies and gentlemen meet Jessica and Shelli from Augusta and Atlanta GA! These two ladies had no prior modeling experience as none was needed for this session…. just a dress and creative freedom. I had planned on shooting rain or shine… luckily it was sunny but for the lovely models it was extremely cold this past Sunday. I really want to thank them for hanging in there even while their teeth were chattering =). I think the coolest part of the shoot was the “Rat Rod” (A rat rod is simply a custom car that is made for driving and hanging out with friends. Rat rods aren’t ultra glossy show cars. Instead a rat rod is a “unfinished” street rod that is intentionally left a bit rough around the edges.)… anyway we were headed to a location, walking across the street when we heard this loud noise approaching quickly… well blowing by us in a very unique looking car was Ben. We started yelling and whistling and finally got Ben’s attention and waved him back… I asked if we could shoot with his car and he gladly let us. It was a very cool car and fit the shoot well. Also Ben says the car is for sale and he built it from parts himself. Here are some shots from the session…. Enjoy!
