5 Days… 5 Months… :: { scott greene photography }

Remember little Ford from a few months ago…? (5 days old). Well mister Ford is now 5 month old! I love seeing the changes between the first few days of life to the first few months…. such a big change. Well yesterday was Ford’s number 2 session of what was my First Year package. We got some great shots and we went backdrop free as well just shooting around on the furniture and different parts of the house… I actually like that a little better and it looks like Ford did as well… check out a few of these ::

Year of the Cannon :: { jefferson ga senior photographer}

I’m glad Cannon decided to Joiner in on the creative senior sessions… (okay so the play on words may have been a lil cheesey =). Anyway I was contacted several weeks ago by Cannon’s mom and we scheduled his senior session. The day was about perfect for a shoot, overcast (great for portraits btw), cool temperatures and another senior willing to get some great shots. We started out at my old faithful… I have shot several seniors, engagements and bridals there so every time I go it’s a challenge to make it look new and different… either way we deff got some great shots. Cannon brought a long his guitar for a few shots and played a few chords in between…. Here are a few quick peeks from Cannon’s session last night ::

Broke the ICE for 2012 :: {senior photographer}

Soooo this year so far has been a good one for starting out with a bang!… My first wedding of this years season was at Piedmont Park and Park Tavern, and I set the bar high for the rest of my wedding season. Well it looks as if I may have done the same thing again except with the kick-off of my senior season. I had this shoot last night with Ms. Paige whom goes to the same high school that I graduated from… (Go Dragons and whats up coach DuBose!) and this shoot was just fun all the way around. We collaborated  for about two weeks or so kicking around a few ideas and naming a few locations… finally it all came together. She did her thing and let me do mine… and together we got some GREAT shots to kick of her senior year and my senior season. We pretty much covered it all in this shoot from beautiful portraits, old grunge backgrounds, cool commercial like vehicle shots to even some good ol’ attitude looks Jtown style! I hear Paige is pretty good at softball and wins coaches awards in golf, but she surely was a natural in front of the camera… almost as if she has done this for. Maybe I will get the chance to work with her again on down the road. I want to give a quick thank you to Hillary (the light lady) for holding my lights as I forgot my stands… Thanks! For more info on my senior sessions click here or contact me directly. Here are a few images from Paige’s session:

The Thackers Wedding! :: {north ga wedding photographer}

So it’s been quite sometime since my last blog post… I have been slacking a bit, but there is no better motivation for a blog post than a great wedding to show.  I shot Savannah and Ben’s engagement pictures a few months ago… (remember, that was the flat tire day), and well it was finally time for the big day. Ben and Savannah decided to do a “First Look” (as I think all brides should do =) so we got tons of great pictures without being rushed. Minus the squal line storm that came thru just as th ereception started… the day went perfect. Here is a little sneak peek of the day:

Ahhhh the intimate “First Look”……

Wedding at the Marietta Conference Center :: {wedding photographer}

This past Saturday I side shot a wedding with Neal Reeves Photography… I love to side shoot for anybody out there looking for one…. Anyway it was a very hot day but we pulled off some GREAT shots… here are a few sneak peeks:

Trashing the Dress Mountain Style :: {north ga wedding photographer}

Well the time had finally came… time for part 3 of Ms. Ashley’s Trash the Dress (TTD) session. This was originally supposed to be done last Sept , but after a few reschedules later… here we are and boy was it worth it! I have been looking forward to this water session for awhile. We have previously shot the Country/Urban session and the Junkyard session and now the infamous water session! (OH YEAH… anybody thinking of doing this but is a little timid of ruining their dress… guess what… after all of these session I am taking her dress and getting it dry cleaned and it will be as good as new….. so seeeeee you don’t have to ruin it to Rock It.) Anyway…. I had this place in mind since day one of shooting a few of my buddies fishing here some 4 years ago. Ashley and her mom jumped in the ol truck with me and off we went. After an hour or better ride and some misdirections from TomTom and Casey… thanks bud, we had finally arrived…. well I’m not sure what else I can say other than this was a FUN shoot not only for me but I think for Ashley as well…. The water was pretty frigid still but like a champ she had her game face on…. I’ll hush now and let you see.

Mr and Mrs Cain {athens ga wedding photographer}

Soooo NOW I can post the real deal. Carley and Brandon are officially hitched and documented. Since day one Carley trusted me with the direction to and creativity for her pictures. I strongly convinced her to do a “First Look” and she accepted and it was great… just ask her about it! We did the first look on north campus at the University of Georgia and their wedding reception was at the Commerce Civic Center. Well… there isn’t much more I can say about this wonderful couple that I haven’t already said in their previous two post (engagement and bridal). But I would like to thank them for letting me be a part of their special day… Thanks Guys! Check a few pictures from the big day!

A Poole of Fire: Trash the Dress {wedding photographer}

Got a phone call about 2 months ago from Mr. Poole… he had just been recently married at Hurricane Shoals Park and was looking on Google images and some of mine just happened to pop up (thank you blog =)… well he wanted my TTD aka Trash the Dress… services! I was delighted of course because these are one of my most favorite type of sessions to shoot… We corresponded a few times via email and he showed me some ideas of what him and Brandi were thinking…. and well as soon as I saw fire as one of the examples… Scott got all excited about this shoot (yes I just spoke in 3rd person!). Brandi and Josh put back on there wedding attire from that special day in March…. and we did a little ‘trashing”. The session worked out good with the old junk cars as it went with what was kind of a “rocking 40′s and 50′s look”. Here are some of the shots from the Poole’s Trash the Dress:

Rock that Dress Mrs.Cain {wedding photographer}

So Carley the day is here… obviously I have written this post before your wedding date, but I know you would kill me if I posted before hand so I won’t! Anyway for those of you guys out there… like I mentioned before in Carley and Brandon’s engagement session… she told me some 3 years ago that I was going to shoot her wedding and well I am either shooting it today on 5/21 or I have shot it yesterday b/c this is the Sunday after…. WELL now that we are all confused, here are a few pics from Carley’s bridals that we took two weeks prior to her wedding date…. she may call them bridals but I am putting these under my “Rock the Dress” category… way to go Carley =)… PS- she took a few special ones for her new husband the football coach, see if you can spot them! (had fun shooting the wedding tonight)

Trashing the Dresses around Athens GA

So I put I a call out about two weeks ago for a FREE trash the dress session for any takers that were willing. I got a lot of inquiries about it but only really a couple of serious ones. Ladies and gentlemen meet Jessica and Shelli from Augusta and Atlanta GA! These two ladies had no prior modeling experience as none was needed for this session…. just a dress and creative freedom. I had planned on shooting rain or shine… luckily it was sunny but for the lovely models it was extremely cold this past Sunday. I really want to thank them for hanging in there even while their teeth were chattering =). I think the coolest part of the shoot was the “Rat Rod” (A rat rod is simply a custom car that is made for driving and hanging out with friends. Rat rods aren’t ultra glossy show cars. Instead a rat rod is a “unfinished” street rod that is intentionally left a bit rough around the edges.)… anyway we were headed to a location, walking across the street when we heard this loud noise approaching quickly… well blowing by us in a very unique looking car was Ben. We started yelling and whistling and finally got Ben’s attention and waved him back… I asked if we could shoot with his car and he gladly let us. It was a very cool car and fit the shoot well. Also Ben says the car is for sale and he built it from parts himself. Here are some shots from the session…. Enjoy!

They’re Good Friends and They’re Great Pictures

So Facebook is a tool that I use often use to find, meet and  admire other photographers work in my area and abroad. Thanks to Facebook I have gained a lot of friends and keep in contact with some great photographers that just a few years ago I would have never had the opportunity to see yet alone meet. Beth is one of those photographers that I ran up on with Facebook. We have tried in the past to work out a trade of services so we could shoot each others families… and like all photographers our schedules were just so hectic. Luckily before the wedding monsoon rolls in for me… I had a free Sunday so I contacted Beth and her friend Amber ( who has also tried to plan a session with me and our schedules never quite could get on the same page ) and mentioned that if they were still interested in pictures that this was probably the best opportunity. Both wanted something totally unique and different, so of course… I like junkyards and well that’s where we went. Here are just a few pictures from the shoot:

The Rock the Dress Session is here!!

He’s your one and only true love, right? Then you’ll never need the dress again. And no, your daughter won’t wear it in 20-30 years. So you can either bury it in a closet, or have some fun by Rocking the Dress one last time, and get some great pictures while you do it! When brides are able to flaunt without worrying about getting a spot or two on their attire, the experience and results are so much better. It’s never been about destruction.  It’s always been about creation. In the end,  it really doesn’t matter what you call it-  as the image usually speaks loudest.  Welcome to the now,  and I can’t wait to shoot you while you Rock it!

• What is a Rock the Dress Session?
Now that the wedding is over, you have two choices of what to do with the dress. You can suffocate it in a plastic bag and hope that your daughter will want to wear it in 20 years, or you can put it back on and have some fun.

• Do I have to really trash it?

Of course not!   It’s just a fun session to do when you have more time than the day of the wedding or a situation you wouldn’t dare do the day of the wedding. Sure you can get a little risky with it, like splashing in water or standing in an alley since the fear of getting it dirty is over, but you don’t have to.

• Can I still do a session if you didn’t shoot my wedding?
Absolutely! I can certainly add a little spice to your wedding collection even if I didn’t cover the actual event. This is the perfect opportunity to add a different style to your wedding photos and some out of the ordinary locations.

• How much does it cost?
You can view my prices below or online. A typical session would require a Location Session which is anywhere within an hour of Jefferson, GA. Outside of this area special arrangements would be necessary.

• So what are you waiting for?
Contact me today to schedule your Rock the Dress session and give the dress one more run for the money.

Rocking It In the Junkyard….

Soooo…. What a GREAT way to wrap up a GREAT shoot with GREAT weather and some GREAT models. I got to finally shoot the long awaited “junkyard” pictures that I have been dying to do. This was a good session on several levels… we got to shoot in two types of climate, we got some very very amazing shots with a little bit of luck on one or two (but i’ll take it!), we had a very patient and super nice salvage yard owner who gave us free reign and I got a ton of great shots! Ashley is great to work with as she is just natural in front of the camera if you can’t tell already by her pictures… we found a good stand in model for this session… I like to shoot guys in the session as they act more like a prop rather than a the focus point.  So a big thanks to these two models as we got some very good shots. Everybody keep your eyes posted for the last part of this Trash the Dress as we are in the planning stages now. If anybody is interested in doing a Trash the Dress… get in touch with me and I can give you some pricing, and the dress is not ruined by any means, a good dry cleaning will fix it right up!….

Here are all the photos starting with the ones from today and then from Sunday… enjoy!

Trash It #2 – part 1 of 2

This is my second time working with Ms. Ashley… and like last time she did not disappoint. This was a shoot that i have been planning and looking forward to for a long time… I have always wanted to to a TTD session in a junkyard and well… here it is. Ashley also brought her boyfriend Mr. “Newt”… who has the modeling thing down, not sure if he’s ever done it before but he played the role good. As we got about 30 minutes in to the shoot… the rain rolled in along with some big dark thunder clouds… we braved the lighting for a few shots and caught a few surprises, but we called it after 30-45 minutes of trying to wait out the rain… NO FEAR… we will finish this shoot up in just a couple of days… I am really looking forward to it b/c with Ashley and Newt… i have a feeling we are going to get even more of this same great material…. check it out!!

Trashing the Dress….

WOW!… Finally a Trash the Dress!! I must say this has probably been the funnest and most creative shoots that I have had in a long time. The session is called a “Trash the Dress” and it’s one that allows the creativity to flow. The wedding is over, the day is gone… and the dress is still there. Why not get all of your money’s worth out of it and wear it one more time for a creative photo session. (for the record “trash” is a little harsh… 9 times out of 10 the dress is fine after a good dry cleaning) Anyway….. I have been wanting to do one of these for awhile and I actually have plans to do a few more in the coming weeks and months. Thanks to Ashley who is great model and really knows how to work the camera… these pictures turned out great! There are plans to have another session in a junkyard and possibly in water so please stay tuned for more details. Check out these images and enjoy!
