Carl House Wedding :: {atlanta & metro atlanta photographer}
One of my favorite wedding venues to shoot at… I can go on forever about how great the staff is here and how many wonderful spots on site that there is to get great pictures… The Carl House! Meet Candis and John… what a really great couple and I only officially meet them the day of and was only around them for a about 7 hrs. After shooting almost 80 weddings, there are couples that just have “that look” towards each other… you know that genuine look that that says “at that moment nothing else is even important but them and and only them”…. and it was very evident in the pictures. This couple made my job easy when it came to capturing the emotion and love between them! I can’t wait also because Candis has also booked a “trash the dress” session in the near future, so stay tuned for that, but ofr now check out these amazing shots!! ::
PS – any future brides out there debating on a first look… the one that Candis and John shared was filled with genuine emotion…
Glendalough Manor & Piedmont Park Wedding :: { atlanta ga photographer }
What a great wedding, great couple and amazing venue at Glendalough Manor. The day started out early… like 715am early and also started out a little rough for me as I forgot something pretty important =/, but anyway I got my pep talk and was right back in the game lol! The weather had forgotten something… forgot that we had a wedding that day as it was raining hard all morning, BUT then we got a little break… did the first look, bride and groom pictures, got in the ceremony AND knocked some home run shots at Piedmont Park… speaking of all these great shots that we got in between showers… check them out ::
Hurricane Shoals ParK Maternity:: {metro atlanta & north ga photographer}
If any of you know me or even th eones who follow my work a good bit know that I rarely shoot anything but Weddings and Seniors, but every year I take on some different sessions… a few families, kids and maternity sessions or anything else that I may can fit into the crazy schedule…. Well meet Hollye… we go way back… me and her older sister graduated together and her mom taught me in my elementary school days…. so when Hollye contacted me to do her maternity shots, I will admit the I hesitated a little, because this is typically out of my “box” but I’m glad she was so persistent because we had a great shoot and the images turned out well…. =). Check these out, we shot them at the infamous Jackson County park Hurricane Shoals Park. ::
Taylor Grady House Wedding :: {atl & north ga wedding photographer}
After a 70% chance of rain on the forcast the day before….. we dodged all rain until after the reception was over… YEP! This is a fun couple, Lauren and Matt… and very easy to shoot! I knew at the engagement session that we were going to get great photos the day of the wedding because these guys needed no direction… they just did and I just shot… YEP! This wedding was held at a favorite venue of mine in Athens GA… The Taylor Grady House. My 3rd time actually shooting here and such a great venue to photograph! It was hard finding my usual handful of pictures for this wedding because there were so many good ones… so you get to see a few bonus ones… YEP!… lol checkem out ::
What’s Cooking :: {metro atlanta and north ga photographer}
The high school senior session is now upon us and man do I love these sessions!! This looking to become another promising season as spots are filling up quickly… If you are thinking about booking a session or know anyone who is… pass this along as they should book now =) ( seniors sessions from the past ). I am all about anything different and out of the box… I also haven’t met a location no matter what the challenge that we couldn’t rock it out!! Well when Savannah’s mom contacted me about her session… I was all about it… because she is an inspiring chef and headed to culinary school after high school and well they wanted some shots in the restaurant that she currently works at… ( Farm 255 ) in downtown Athens! A really cool place and a great location for some cool pictures. We shot there and a few more places around Athens… check out these shots and don’t forget to tell your upcoming senior friends about Scott Greene Photography! Check out some of the amazing shots from the session ::
Stover House Wedding :: { metro atlanta and destination photographer }
This wedding year seems to be an exciting one thus far… #3 on the season proved to be no different. I got the opportunity to shoot again at the wonderful Braselton Stover House. What a great couple as well… Ashley and Jarred were pretty laid back considering we had to move the ceremony inside due to rain, BUT afterwards we got to go outside and take pictures…. I had a 75 no rain wedding streak on the line… I’m still on the fence as if that streak was broken considering we still got to shoot outside. (now that i think about it their engagement session turned out the same way… rain then none then amazing pictures =) Anyway… Ashley and Jarred always seem to make great pictures… their engagement session was and is still one of my favorites today and their wedding was just as great… check out some of these shots =) ::
Spring Has Sprung :: { atlanta and north ga photographer }
Spring… one of my best and worst times of the year… the worst, because allergies attack me like no other…. Sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head fever (okay thats from the old school Vicks 44 commercial… just showed my age =)… Anyway, its the best time of the year for me because it’s getting warm and weddings are being shot about every weekend… and in this case it is a good time of the year for engagement sessions as well!! Something about spring afternoons and the very warm toned color of light from the sun that I just love shooting and trying to capture. This session was my first real afternoon that had this kind of light… Nicole and Ryan did a great job and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in September! Check out these fun shots ::
Beautiful Lake Lanier Wedding :: { atlanta ga wedding photographer }
What a GREAT wedding this past weekend… yes i just yelled that!! A wonderful couple, meet Amanda and Chris! There was a wild twist leading up to their wedding about two weeks out… well this couple is great to shoot and we did their engagement pictures on location of their original venue… which was a very pretty place… well right at two weeks before “the day”…. the venue burned slap down =(. Very sad situation but on a good note it is making a speedy recovery… with that being said I LOVE their new choice of venue!! Lake Lanier Islands…. I have attended several weddings here but never had the opportunity to shoot there until last Saturday! Amanda had nothing but great things to say about the service and the helpfulness of the staff to put her stresses at ease. Too you future brides… Lake Lanier Islands is by far a great venue, especially in a photographers eyes… as we will get to right now =) ::
Got Fitness? :: { atlanta / braselton ga photographer }
Collaboration portfolio shoots are shoots that I tend to do from time to time in the down time of my crazy year… This was one of those types of sessions. I like idea of shooting fitness and weight lifting types of shots… except I like to put my own little SGP twist on it. My goal is to give a unique shot with dynamic lighting but yet at the same time try and steer clear of the “industry standard” shots that everybody see’s in glamor fitness types of magazines.
Meet the Whitney… she was the one that I did the collaborating with for the shoot, her and her husband have quite the success story of pretty much just eating clean and working out… for some true inspiration checkout her sites WhitneyCarlson.com and He & She Eat Clean…. very motivational and they seem to have a huge following as well… go check it out and get inspired. Whitney added two of her friends in with th eshoot as well and asked if i could take a few of their kind of shots and then I could get the ones that I needed… so all in all I think it worked out for the all parties.
Check out some of the shots… in the gym and in the junkyard… YEAP JUNKYARD… you know how i like put pretty things in ugly places… makes such a dynamic contrast…
Meet The Cast :: Whitney, Anna and Paige
and this was pretty much how the day went…. Anna was our ice breaker or was it the tequila? …lol
Crystal & Nate :: { atlanta and north ga photographer }
What A Great Engagement Shoot…. As a photographer it always means a lot when a bride is willing to book her wedding around your availability…. it puts a big smile your face =). Meet Crystal and Nate…. me and crystal go back some years ( i won’t mention how many as it may show how young we really are
… but last year around October she contacted me about shooting her wedding this October… and of course we got the details worked out and today was the engagement… ended up being a great shoot as it was also the first evening of daylight savings time ( my favorite time of the year )…. check out a few of the shots below ::
Cameron 2014 Senior :: {atlanta & athens ga photographer}
Cameron 2014 Commerce High School Senior shoot collaboration #2…. remember this amazing shoot from just a few weeks back… Austin from EJHS ( http://blog.greeneworks.net/2013/02/20/ejhs-senior-atlanta-and-north-ga-photographer/ )… well this would be Mr. Austin’s lovely girlfriend Cameron. Austin was pretty tough enduring some chilli weather while putting up with 3 goofy photographers…. well I gotta say Cameron may just be a bit tougher… she had the same 3 goofy photographers and much, much colder…. actually freezing weather. She was a great model by all means. I really got some great shots from this session as well….. I shot around with a lens I hardly ever shoot with just to get outside my comfort zone and I really think it worked well for me this session… for you photographers out there… I highly recommend getting an 85 f1.4 of sorts… its yummy and great bokeh too.
This is officially kicking off my 2014 Senior Season “It’s Your Year, OWN It”…. as most of you you know once April or may gets here seniors will be booking like crazy in order to reserve those summer slots for pictures… I try to shoot no more than 20 seniors every year…. So if you are thinking about it… go ahead and book and reserve your slot this summer today… email me for details ( scott@greeneworks.net ). Great for the price of Good! =)
Anyway… check out some of these shots below ::
Lauren and Matt :: { atlanta & athens ga photographer }
Meet Lauren and Matt… I must say I am really looking forward to shooting this wedding because these guys are going to make great shots! Very few couples do I come across that need no direction at all… they just naturally are themselves in front of the camera and it comes across as very natural. This was one of those shoots… we got our smiles, we got laughs, we got our quiet moments and we most deff got our kissing shots…. Check out some of these great shots below ::
EJHS Senior :: {atlanta and north ga photographer}
Kicking off the 2014 Senior Season a little earlier this year…. Teaming up with 2 other photographers and one really cool senior makes for a great afternoon. Samantha Beauchamp Photography contacted me a few weeks ago to collaborate with her on a senior session that she had coming up… with our different styles of work she felt we could really give him a diverse set of images… I then asked if I could take it a bit further and I mentioned bringing on another talented shooter… Antonio Little Photography… with us 3 in place it was sure to be a cool session and I knew we were going to have a lot of fun… so a big thanks SBP and ALP for a great evening of shooting and a special big thanks to Austin for hanging in there with us for a little over 3 hours…. it was well worth it. Here are my share of images from the shoot check them out….

Karen & Brad Engagement :: { gainesville / atlanta ga photographer }
Happy 2013… It’s not too late to say that is it =)… So I’m baaaack! After my well deserved 3 month break over the holidays… and after what has a been an eye opening and life changing experience for me… its time for some photo therapy. I am back and I am looking forward to this years wedding and senior seasons, so stay tuned to SGP =)
What a great session to kick off my 2013… Meet Karen and Brad…. a real cool couple who wanted something very different for their engagement session… and that we did! It was shot at Brad’s studio where he mixes videos and other cool stuffs… (hopefully an SGP promo video may be coming soon =)…. Anyway the day started out very pretty with sun and blue skies, but of course with my luck lately as soon as we get out to shoot… the rain starts and doesn’t quit…. well of course we shot inside, BUT I saw an opportunity and with a cool couple that was down for anything neat… yeah… well… we shot in the rain… we froze but it was worth it! Checkem out ::
This Is Real :: {atlanta ga wedding photographer}
Last wedding of my 2012 season… what a great one to end on! An awesome bride, great weather and wonderful help! This bride Ashley… (to a lot of you that follow my work a good bit)… will look very familiar to you…. Just take a look at some of these post (click here). This is a lot different than what you may have seen her in some of my previous works….. they were hands down great, but this was REAL and wow could you ever tell it. The connection between her and Shane is just picture perfect… no pun intended!! While Ashley has always been the camera’s best friend… her new hubby Shane worked it pretty well just being himself! These guys had a first a look and a little birdie told me that Shane wasn’t crazy about the idea… he wanted to keep it traditional… well for all of you on the fence about a first look… th esame little birdie told me that after the night was over… that he was kinda glad they had it because of the powerful moment between the two of them…. but that’s his secrete i won’t tell anyone else =) So check out some of these amazing shots from an amazing wedding… and thanks Ashley for helping to get to where I am due to your amazing shoots in the past… maybe we’ll work together in the future too….
Macayla’s Senior Session :: {athens ga senior photographer}
Meet Macayla… a senior this year and my last senior session of 2012 and what a good one to end on! Like all senior sessions start out, Macayla was a little shy at first, but after about 15 to 20 minutes of shooting she started to get in the “model mode” =). We shot in and around downtown Athens and she rocked it out pretty well… about midway thru the session at the elevators… she was telling me what she was going to do… I was like “go on gurl” do your thang! We had fun on this session, I think I kept her and her mom laughing….on accident… they were snickering at my “how to” poses…lol. Yes I imagine i probably looked pretty silly… anyway check out these great shots from the session ::
Carl House Wedding :: {atlanta wedding photographer}
Probably one of my most favorite couples this year… meet Michelle and Jay again. You met these guys a few weeks ago with their hott engagement session. Well their day had finally arrived and what a great day it turned out to be… nice weather, great venue at the Carl House and a great time with DJ TOD. I shoot a lot of weddings so I get to see couples the happiest on their most important day… well the love between Michelle and Jay when they look at each other is evident and it definitely radiated in their pictures. These guys had a first look and we got a lot of great shots… this was wedding #3 for me in November and it’s weddings like this that remind me why I shoot… thanks guys for letting me be apart of your special day… now check out some kool shots! ::
Jordan and Shannon :: {engagement photographer}
Meet Shannon and Jordan… This is a very photogenic couple as you can tell. Jordan can deff work the camera as she is no stranger to the world of modeling and Shannon did a great job as well…. being the “boy prop” and the sweet fiance… Stay tuned this winter as Jordan are I plan to do a session or two for some cool creatives and portfolio builders… We got a lot of great shots but here are just a few from the session…. ::
“Romance” :: {ga wedding photographer}
I HAVE SOOOOO BEEN WAITING TO POST THIS…. Bridal sessions are bitter sweet…. sweet b/c they are great sessions with no stress and lots of creativity… bitter b/c I can’t post a great session till after the wedding… well guess what… IT’S AFTER THE WEDDING YALL! For those of you who haven’t met Ashley yet… we have worked together 3 times prior on my Trash the Dress portfolio (downtown urban look, junkyard and a mountain stream… all kick @$$ sessions =). I was pretty flattered when she asked me to be her wedding photographer, b/c this time it was for real…. and she knows the importance of lasting photography.
Ashley got an engagement session and a bridal session in her wedding package…. the engagement turned out really good, but she sent me a pretty challenging request for her bridal… and if you know me… I like a good challenge =). Her bridal session idea was inspired by this Ralph Lauren commercial… “Romance”. So of course as soon as I watched this I was like… “HE%$ (double hockey sticks) yeah we can do it!”…. Thanks to my brother from a different mother Scott Hawks for letting us use his horse farm and a few of his fine horses. (Dancing Tree Farms…. by the way photogs check it out… his rates are great for horse usage). When we got done with the session I couldn’t wait to get them edited and proofed out to her… BUT I had to wait about a month before I could post…. well the wedding was last night… rocked it out too and those are coming later on, BUT check these out !! ::
Jay and Heels-lary =) :: {Braselton-Stover House Wedding}
Hello blog world, I would like to introduce you to Hillary and Jay…….. I don’t know his last name… ahhh yeah Wood (LOL sorry Jay I had too). What a great couple these guys are… really nice and very laid back. They got married at the Braselton Stover House and what a great venue that this place is. Jay is a police officer and Heels-lary… I mean Hillary is a school teacher, BUT don’t let the profession fool ya… between her “heels with attitude” and her dancing… gurl got moves like Jagger lol…. The reception was so fun and I had so much good action to shoot that my side shooter found himself getting down on the dance floor as well…. What a great evening and night we had shooting this special day. Check out some of the shots from the day ::
Das Senior :: {north ga senior photographer}
As my senior season is starting slow down a bit… this session with Sydney was really cool because she is my first real non-local senior… whoo hoo i’m going regional…lol… just kidding but she is from up in Cumming GA. We had a great shoot and hit several of my favorite locations which are all new to those seniors… We dodged the rain and ended up with a very pretty, somewhat windy afternoon. Oh yeah, shes drives a cool car too.. VDUB =)… lol. Anyway check out some of the shots below ::
