Taylor Grady House Wedding :: {atl & north ga wedding photographer}

After a 70% chance of rain on the forcast the day before….. we dodged all rain until after the reception was over… YEP! This is a fun couple, Lauren and Matt… and very easy to shoot! I knew at the engagement session that we were going to get great photos the day of the wedding because these guys needed no direction… they just did and I just shot… YEP! This wedding was held at a favorite venue of mine in Athens GA… The Taylor Grady House. My 3rd time actually shooting here and such a great venue to photograph! It was hard finding my usual handful of pictures for this wedding because there were so many good ones… so you get to see a few bonus ones… YEP!… lol checkem out ::

Stover House Wedding :: { metro atlanta and destination photographer }

This wedding year seems to be an exciting one thus far… #3 on the season proved to be no different. I got the opportunity to shoot again at the wonderful Braselton Stover House. What a great couple as well… Ashley and Jarred were pretty laid back considering we had to move the ceremony inside due to rain, BUT afterwards we got to go outside and take pictures…. I had a 75 no rain wedding streak on the line… I’m still on the fence as if that streak was broken considering we still got to shoot outside. (now that i think about it their engagement session turned out the same way… rain then none then amazing pictures =) Anyway… Ashley and Jarred always seem to make great pictures… their engagement session was and is still one of my favorites today and their wedding was just as great… check out some of these shots =) ::

Spring Has Sprung :: { atlanta and north ga photographer }

Spring… one of my best and worst times of the year… the worst, because allergies attack me like no other…. Sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head fever (okay thats from the old school Vicks 44 commercial… just showed my age =)… Anyway, its the best time of the year for me because it’s getting warm and weddings are being shot about every weekend… and in this case it is a good time of the year for engagement sessions as well!! Something about spring afternoons and the very warm toned color of light from the sun that I just love shooting and trying to capture. This session was my first real afternoon that had this kind of light… Nicole and Ryan did a great job and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in September! Check out these fun shots ::

Beautiful Lake Lanier Wedding :: { atlanta ga wedding photographer }

What a GREAT wedding this past weekend… yes i just yelled that!! A wonderful couple, meet Amanda and Chris! There was a wild twist leading up to their wedding about two weeks out… well this couple is great to shoot and we did their engagement pictures on location of their original venue… which was a very pretty place… well right at two weeks before “the day”…. the venue burned slap down =(. Very sad situation but on a good note it is making a speedy recovery… with that being said I LOVE their new choice of venue!! Lake Lanier Islands…. I have attended several weddings here but never had the opportunity to shoot there until last Saturday! Amanda had nothing but great things to say about the service and the helpfulness of the staff to put her stresses at ease. Too you future brides… Lake Lanier Islands is by far a great venue, especially in a photographers eyes… as we will get to right now =) ::

Densmore Farm Wedding :: { atlanta / north ga photographer }

Meet Karen and Brad again… remember the very cool “rainy engagement” a few weeks back…. Welp their big day has finally arrived. Such a cool and sweet couple and it was at a pretty cool venue in Cleveland GA called Densmore Farm. The day went off without a hitch and we got some really great shots. A really emotionally charged day on several levels and I am honored that they choose me to capture those… check out some shots… ::

Crystal & Nate :: { atlanta and north ga photographer }

What A Great Engagement Shoot…. As a photographer it always means a lot when a bride is willing to book her wedding around your availability…. it puts a big smile your face =). Meet Crystal and Nate…. me and crystal go back some years ( i won’t mention how many as it may show how young we really are ;) … but last year around October she contacted me about shooting her wedding this October… and of course we got the details worked out and today was the engagement… ended up being a great shoot as it was also the first evening of daylight savings time ( my favorite time of the year )…. check out a few of the shots below ::

Lauren and Matt :: { atlanta & athens ga photographer }

Meet Lauren and Matt… I must say I am really looking forward to shooting this wedding because these guys are going to make great shots! Very few couples do I come across that need no direction at all… they just naturally are themselves in front of the camera and it comes across as very natural. This was one of those shoots… we got our smiles, we got laughs, we got our quiet moments and we most deff got our kissing shots…. Check out some of these great shots below ::

Jim Walters Barn Engagement :: {ga wedding photographer}

Amanda and Chris…. I can tell this is going to be a fun wedding come next year. I met these guys awhile back when we were booking their wedding and right off the bat I could tell that Amanda was going to make some great photos just being herself… loves to laugh, loves to smile and loves her man which always makes for a great photography recipe. We did their engagement session at Jim Walters Barn in Lula, GA… I have shot there two previous times… once a bridal session and then a wedding. Great little “country-esque” venue to shoot at. We got some pretty wonderful shots there… check them out ::

“Romance” :: {ga wedding photographer}

I HAVE SOOOOO BEEN WAITING TO POST THIS…. Bridal sessions are bitter sweet…. sweet b/c they are great sessions with no stress and lots of creativity… bitter b/c I can’t post a great session till after the wedding… well guess what… IT’S AFTER THE WEDDING YALL! For those of you who haven’t met Ashley yet… we have worked together 3 times prior on my Trash the Dress portfolio (downtown urban look, junkyard and a mountain stream… all kick @$$ sessions =). I was pretty flattered when she asked me to be her wedding photographer, b/c this time it was for real…. and she knows the importance of lasting photography.

Ashley got an engagement session and a bridal session in her wedding package…. the engagement turned out really good, but she sent me a pretty challenging request for her bridal… and if you know me… I like a good challenge =). Her bridal session idea was inspired by this Ralph Lauren commercial… “Romance”. So of course as soon as I watched this I was like… “HE%$ (double hockey sticks) yeah we can do it!”…. Thanks to my brother from a different mother Scott Hawks for letting us use his horse farm and a few of his fine horses. (Dancing Tree Farms…. by the way photogs check it out… his rates are great for horse usage). When we got done with the session I couldn’t wait to get them edited and proofed out to her… BUT I had to wait about a month before I could post…. well the wedding was last night… rocked it out too and those are coming later on, BUT check these out !! ::

Jay and Heels-lary =) :: {Braselton-Stover House Wedding}

Hello blog world, I would like to introduce you to Hillary and Jay…….. I don’t know his last name… ahhh yeah Wood (LOL sorry Jay I had too). What a great couple these guys are… really nice and very laid back. They got married at the Braselton Stover House and what a great venue that this place is. Jay is a police officer and Heels-lary… I mean Hillary is a school teacher, BUT don’t let the profession fool ya… between her “heels with attitude” and her dancing… gurl got moves like Jagger lol…. The reception was so fun and I had so much good action to shoot that my side shooter found himself getting down on the dance floor as well….  What a great evening and night we had shooting this special day. Check out some of the shots from the day ::

Jim Walters Barn Wedding :: { north ga wedding photographer }

Congrats to Latosha and Tad who were married just less than two weeks ago… that’s right brides to be… less than two weeks ago and they are getting their disc now =)… This venue, Jim Walters Barn, in Lula GA is a pretty neat place. There is a lot of really neat places to shoot around there and inside. It made for a great wedding venue and Latosha and Tad made it that much prettier…. awwwww… Check out some the great shots from their special day !! ::

Jim Walters Barn Bridal :: { north ga wedding photographer }

Soo I got home not long ago tonight from shooting Latosha and Tad’s wedding at Jim Walters Barn in Lula, GA… what a very pretty venue and very country-esque =) We also did Latosha’s Bridal Session there as well a few weeks ago… bridal sessions are bitter sweet to me because… they are sweet because it is great session that we can take our time and get some great shots, it’s good dress, hair and makeup practice for the big day… they are bitter because the pictures turn out so good and I have to wait until after the wedding to post obviously…lol. So I have had these on standby for over a week now to post as soon as the wedding was over =)… Stay tuned for the actual wedding pictures coming soon… anyway check out Latosha’s bridal below ::

Brasstown Valley Wedding :: { north ga wedding photographer }

What a great weekend to shoot a great wedding… Perfect weather, perfect venue and the perfect couple…. This wedding was held up at Brasstown Valley Resort  This is a really nice venue nestled in the mountains of North Ga. Kristina and Neel were as relaxed as they could be it seemed on what was a very busy day… I got some great shots and here are a few from the day… check them out

Country Time :: { wedding photographer }

This was wedding #67 for me in my short career… and I must say this was probably one of my favorites I’ve ever shot. First off I’d like to thank Marla and Chad for sticking with me thru the tough and unfortunate times that took place over the months of planning leading up to your special day. Marla and Chad is a very nice couple and very sincere and friendly…. I met Chad twice (the second time on his wedding day) and he was generous enough to tell me about the green cooler and to help myself (thanks for that and I had a few….shhhhh).  Everything at this wedding, which was held at the brides parents house, was put together and done by them…. I was very impressed when I rolled up the day of the wedding…. I knew it was going to be a good day… check out some shots ::

Ashley and Jarred :: { engagement photographer }

I think all my couples I shoot and work with are great, but I must admit there is that noticeable playful love among some that is apparent just right off the bat… Meet Ashley and Jarred, they are one of those couples that make taking pictures easy. Ashley sent me a few ideas that I could add my own little spin too and Jarred actually seemed really comfortable in front of the camera…. (a rarity for most guys). The pictures came on the day that ended a 3 day rain monsoon from a passing by hurricane. We actually didn’t think we would be able to shoot that afternoon and what do you know it cleared up and was bright sunny skies… and not only that but we had some outstanding clouds to move in also towards the end of the session… check out the shots ::

Rain Rain Went Away :: { engagement photographer }

This past week has dumped quite the rain… This engagement session with Latosha and Tad looked a little touch and go for awhile there with the rain all around us. Once again my luck holds out… we get a nice little break and knockout the session. A little funny side note, this particular location is pretty neat except they need a sign that says beware of the cats…they weren’t ferocious or mean just annoying and i bet out of all my shots I had to clone and heal brush them out of most pictures…. BUT with even the cats trying to pester us, we got some great shots… check them out ::

The Georgia Club Wedding :: { wedding photographer }

Back to the grind… after having some of July and all of August off from weddings… I am back at full swing now. I ended my first half on a bang with DJ & Bubba and starting this second half off on the right foot at The Georgia Club. Not sure if you remember Kim and Allen’s amazing engagement session at Piedmont Park, but their wedding was not to disappoint either. Without delaying anymore check out these shots! ::

Kristina and Neel :: {athens ga wedding photographer}

Ninety-eight degrees, humid and a slight overcast this July afternoon…. that was what we endured during this engagement shoot at the Botanical Gardens in Athens this past Monday. Kristina and Neel were a couple of troopers to say the least thru these conditions and for that we got some really great pictures… I can’t wait till their wedding this fall. Below are just a few from the session ::

DJ & Bubba :: { north ga wedding photographer }

DJ and Bubba says I Do! This was a pretty cool wedding in that most of all the pictures were taken on DJ’s parents property. What a very pretty place they have… everything from a nice big house, to wooden bridges, to nice greenery and even a cool little vineyard. Very nice and inviting family as well… we got luck in that the temperature may have hit 90… if it did we really didn’t feel it much as I always shoot in the shade =). We also dodged the rain, which I knew we would because I have a “65 wedding no rain consecutive streak” going on currently… yeap so all you brides thinking about booking me… HA just more added value on top of some great shots =)…lol. Anyway here are a few shots from the day… enjoy ::

Piedmont Park Engagement :: { atlanta ga wedding photographer }

Ahhh… my second time ever at Piedmont Park and my first time back since my wonderful wedding there last April (Great Wedding BTW). Meet Kim and Allen… Kim works just a rock throw from the park and wanted the skyline in a few shots. Well it’s quite th edrive for me to the ATL but I am up for pleasing my clients… and even though I knew nothing about the park, I have a great group of photographer friends in my group JPG (Joining Photographers in GA) that i turned too for some cool locations inside and boy did they come thru for me. Not only did we get some great skyline shots, BUT we even beat a storm coming thru and got some awesome clouds as well… =). Besides the 97 degree weather… (thats 36 Celsius for any of my Canadian peeps reading)… we had a great shoot and got some amazing pictures =) ::

Heather & Michael at the Carl House :: {atlanta wedding photographer}

Heather and Michael was wed last Saturday at the Carl House and like every wedding that I have shot there… it was amazing. I shot Heather and Michael’s engagement photos awhile back at Hurricane Shoals and I could tell then that we were going to capture some great shots on the day of their wedding! Such a laid back couple with a great family. I just finished up editing their whole wedding… they are probably on their way back from the honeymoon and I am on my way tomorrow to a well deserved vacation… Here are a few shots from the day… enjoy ::

Wedding Bells in Monroe GA :: { north ga wedding photographer }

Another great wedding… I shot this one with NRP. Not a lot to say… just let the images do the talking. Quick post on this one… enjoy! ::

DJ & Bubba :: { atlanta wedding photographer }

DJ and Bubba… I had never met DJ prior to our engagement session but we have been friends on Facebook for quite some time… she like myself is a graphic designer and we shared a little information about the industry and the tools in the past…. well she got engaged and well I get the opportunity to photography her special day! Its always nice to have people like my work, but always means a lot when someone in the art community likes it as well…. even enough to book me =). I must admit I am jealous of DJ’s design job… she gets to design for the Falcons, Hawks and the Braves…. (if you guys need a freelance photographer let me know ;) Anyway here are a few shots from the engagement session ::

Roswell Mill Wedding :: { atlanta wedding photographer }

Wedding #8 of the season for me and I got to shoot with AGW Photography. The last time that I shot at Roswell Mill was a few years ago and Allyson assited me so I had the opportunity to side shoot with her at her wedding there. This place is a unique venue in that there are a lot of different looks for good photography… everything from old buildings to rivers and waterfalls. A lot of things have changed in Roswell since I last shot there… the Roswellians think very highly of their city property… hence the $100 permit to shoot photography there that you have to have… Luckily Julie had hers… I meant Allyson had hers =). We didn’t get sent to jail thank goodness. The reception was a first for me in that it was pretty crazy (i’ll keep the incriminatory pictures hidden) but I think we counted 7 spilled drinks and 3 broken glasses on the dance floor… you know you have a good reception when that happens…  Like always I enjoy side shooting and usually try and get some good stuff… check out some of the shots below ::

Immediately after this next shot below…. i caught some of his Crown and Coke on me and my lens… luckily no harm…whew!
